During the April Event, NWKIA participants gathered at Anousone downtown OP. The restaurant was situated in the same location as Elly and Daniel's great grandfather's bakery had been. The group attended a pottery class at Driftwood Ceramics and then had a snack at Pop culture Popcorn. Sponsered by Lighthouse for the Blind St. Louis.

During NWKIA March Event, we enjoyed enjoyed a family style lunch at Buca Di Beppo then attended the whimsical “Lily and the Pirates” audio-descripted musical.

Today, NWKIA embarked on a mission at Atlas 9 to explore 1995 in a different dimension. The group enjoyed a jazz band, 1990s movies, dancers, and air acrobatics while searching for clues to solve a choose-your-own-adventure mystery.

Northwest Kids in Action hit downtown Kansas City to GAME SHOW STUDIO! We played spin the wheel, high low, three door monte, and survey says. The Company won by a noise over The Pop Rocks but everyone felt like a winner!

Northwest Kids in Action is going to Halloween Haunt at Worlds of Fun on October 12th, 2024.

The World's of Fun website says "Brace yourself for a screaming good time at Worlds of Fun Halloween Haunt, the Midwest’s Largest Halloween Celebration. Everything in your deepest, darkest fears is right here. Spine-chilling haunted mazes and elaborate scare zones will force you to sleep with the lights on. Spooky live shows and seasonal drinks and eats add to the screamingly good fun. If that’s not spooktacular enough, our most popular rides will be open at night to deliver the amazing thrills and chills found only at Worlds of Fun." NWKIA will purchase "No Boo" Necklaces if participants do not want to interact with the Spooks. We will have a meal, snacks and drinks in the park. Partipants can wear a costume if they would like to or just dress for the weather. It should be a fun time for all!

NWKIA was invited to join Kansas State School for the Blind and Minnesota School for the Blind at the conference track and field meet. What a blast! All our participants came away with ribbons.

Tents, smores, sleeping bags. snores and rafts. Oh my! In August, Brad, Jude, Isaiah, Bella, Lexi and Haylee completed their first Challenge Camping and Float Trip. It was a wild ride!
