May 5 is our Junior High Bands Spring Concert. This date is updated from the originally scheduled May 7 from the beginning of the year. The concert will be held in the Dome and start with our beginner band, followed by our 7th and 8th grade band. Junior High Students need to be in place for warmups at 6:40pm. Starting at 5pm, the Band Boosters will be selling Chick-fil-a sandwiches with bottled water and chips for $10, accepting cash and Venmo as payment.

Beginner Band details: Students can wear school spirit or Cinco de Mayo attire. Beginners will leave their cases on the stage in the cafeteria.

Junior High Band details: Students will wear their performance shirts, which they will pick up in the band hall and return after the concert. Please wear jeans or long pants to go with the shirt. Cases will be left in the band hall.

So proud of this group and the hard work and focus they demonstrated. Today the JH Band earned a Sweepstakes Trophy - getting a Superior rating for both their concert performance and for Sight Reading! They brought home the best hardware they could earn!!

We are excited to perform this Thursday at the Region 13 UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation! A note from the host for those who want to come listen: All visitors must check in at the Brazosport HS office before making their way down to the auditorium. The performance is free to attend. The itinerary is below.

7:45AM - check in with directors, put on JH Band performance shirt, get on assigned buses

7:55AM - depart Tidehaven JH

9:05AM - arrive Brazosport HS, unload and prepare for performance

9:25AM - begin warm up session

10:00AM - perform our UIL Program; then Sight Read

10:40AM - load trailer and buses, receive results

11:10AM - arrive lunch spot (school provided $10; options of Popeyes, Whataburger, Taco Bell, Burger King)

12:25PM - back on buses, depart for TJH

1:45PM - arrive TJH

Students will need:

Instrument and binder (brass and percussion instruments will be loaded Wednesday during class)

Wear jeans or long pants and any shirt; official Performance shirt will be provided.

Beginner Band details: Holiday-themed attire or red/green/blue colored clothing is encouraged, please no shorts or hoodies. Beginners will leave their cases on the stage in the cafeteria.

Our annual Halloween Spooktacular concert is next week, Tuesday October 21 at 7pm in the cafetorium. The concert will be presented by our 7th and 8th grade band students, particularly those in our 4th, 7th, and 8th period classes. Here's what you need to know:

Call time for students is 6:30pm. Students are allowed to stay after school for the concert if they do not have a ride back to arrive by the call time.

Students are encouraged to dress in Halloween-related attire, and costumes are allowed as long as they can perform while wearing them. Students can also wear school spirit attire. Please no shorts.

The concert will not be longer than 15 minutes, and there will be a bus afterwards for students to get picked up in Markham, Midfield, or Blessing.

Admission is free, and family members are welcome to join us for our first performance of the school year!
