Posturing Individuals, Teams, and Organizations to be Ready for Anything

Narrative is the foundational pattern to success. A good story gets the most engagement. Narrative carries the momentum of existence in it and drives things forward and brings all of the elements into alignment. All of the characters play their roles in ways that only they can because a thing can only be what it is, and that's why we call it character. Narrative captures the essence of perspective, and let's us see the big picture and the small picture through characters.

Good narrative means someone cared and put time and effort and attention into the characters and the details, and they're invested in the outcomes. Success, failure, adversity, beginnings, endings, they're all stories because they contain powerful data that we can collect and use to make adjustments to our own narrative.

I put the tools into your hands and the knowledge to use them.

Whether it's survival, cybersecurity, self defense, data analysis, poetry, cooking, trying to get a promotion, create high performance teams, or any number of things I have listed on my page. It's all just a means to an end, to be Ready For Anything.

You have to leverage natural existing systems using modern tools and information.

One of the things I teach and implement are internal auditing systems. Gathering internal and external data and using narrative to identify characters measure performance, and create environments that produce good stories.

What's the story you tell yourself? What story does your organization tell? Are you always winning? Always trying to do your best? Are you meeting and exceeding the expectations for the role you are playing and are you ready for that role to change at any moment? Are you aware of the larger narrative you exist in? Do the culture and history permeate the environment? What kind of team are you on? What kind of team are you leading and what stories will they tell about you?

Confidence is a product of awareness. The information you have about yourself and your environment helps you create a better internal model of those elements and make more informed decisions, formulating systems that can survive and adapt.

The battlefield is changing quickly, the landscape is shifting and survival means the same thing it always has. Being Ready For Anything.

Embodiment and Balance

How not being able to integrate outside experiences in prevents you from being able to express inside experiences out

Trauma, knowledge, sensation, pain, desires, etc... Experiences, both positive and negative, have physical locations in the body and within our thought loops and processes as we accumulate them

The mind contains a copy image of the body and everything in it. Damage to the image can cause degradation and loss of certain function within the body

Leading to not only physical illness and ailments but injuries that damage us in other ways

This is disembodiment

This deeply personal estrangement can cause you to neglect both your inner and outer world. You can't hear what your body needs anymore, you don't listen when it tells you to express yourself, you become partially and in some instances, wholly, unable to digest, process, and integrate the entirety of the information you're receiving. This leads to missed opportunities and connections in life and a lack of fullness.

You become more and more accustomed to not being deeply affected by the experiences and connections that are meant for you, and in turn your are left without the space, energy, and resources to deeply affect others.

Your outer experiences become baggage, both mentally and physically, that you have to constantly carry around, and shift, and figure out where to set them down, and how to carry them comfortably. Some stop caring how it affects others, and some know the pain of caring all too much.

When I teach embodiment we unpack those bags, we analyze the contents, and we repack an optimized load. Then everything you carry becomes an extension of yourself which you are intimately familiar with. Everything becomes a tool and serves a purpose and creates opportunity and safety for you and those around you.

Embodiment is when you are living fully within yourself, both expressing and experiencing as fully as possible.

You ever watch someone do tai chi and you see those moments during the exercise when the mind and body are synchronized and the muscle is stretched to it's fullest in a striking pose?

That's the same feeling when you say the things out loud that you need to say when you need to. That's the same feeling when you have a cool idea backed by a wellspring of positive intentions, and you actually do it and it works out. Also the same feeling when horrible things happen to you and you are able to embrace and accept that thing, and make a lesson or an understanding out of it.

Embodiment is when you are the things you want to be, and what you want to be is what you are.

Which brings me to my next point.

What are you?

A lot of people have a schtick. They're the funny person, the smart person, the leader, the follower, the cook. People find what serves them and identify with it, and sometimes they stop looking, pushing, and challenging themselves

Sometimes you let go of becoming some of the other things you wanted to be, or expressing yourself in the other ways you want to express yourself.

This can lead to stagnancy and disconnection and other things.

But what if you could do more? Your body and mind keep telling you to do more, and you think you're tired and incapable but nothing could be further from the truth.

I think a lot of people also believe somewhere inside that if they express themselves more fully it will take up too much space.

The truth is that there are sides of us people never get to see. We never get to show it all at once. But by learning how to express ourselves more fully, shore up our weaknesses, and commit to cross-training in other disciplines we get to bring more of ourselves to the light and in the forefront where ourselves and others can connect to those parts. We become more able to give and receive in more ways, and in ways that matter more. Let your imagination run wild here, the opportunities are endless in this state.

I believe that the key, the doorway to giving and receiving positive and meaningful experiences is through the heart

Open Heart > Open Mind 💪

You ever seen Mike Tyson cry before he absolutely destroys someone?

That's embodiment, and balance.

This is how you hold multiple feelings and thoughts at the same time that are in conflict and remain functional and effective. This is how you interact freely.

But to get there you have to confront some uncomfortable truths about life and yourself, and you have to start opening up those doors.
