As another incredible summer of YMCA camp comes to a close, we want to give a huge THANK YOU to our amazing camp counselors!
This summer, we served more than 300 campers between Camp Discovery, Blue Hill Y Camp at GSA, and Young Bucks Camp in Bucksport.
From field trips and canoeing to archery, arts & crafts, games, swimming, and countless adventures, our campers spent the summer trying new things, building friendships, gaining confidence, and making memories that will last a lifetime.
None of it happens without our counselors. We are so thankful for their dedication, patience, energy, creativity, and fun-loving spirit. They welcomed kids from all backgrounds and helped create places where every camper could feel like they belonged.
Behind every great camp photo is a counselor who helped make that moment happen. Thank you to this incredible crew for giving our kids a summer to remember — and for making our communities a little stronger along the way.
What a summer!

Today is one of our favorite days at the end of camp and that is Paint the Counselors Day! All the kids do this together and they have so much fun, it starts innocent with some small spots here and there and by the end there is more paint then person 😂 then the kids all line up to watch the counselors jump in and it was a cold jump today.

Our Summer Athletic Conditioning Program wrapped up a great session with one final challenge—a steep hike up Bald Mountain!
These athletes put in the work all summer and saw great improvements across the board in strength, speed, agility, and flexibility. It was great to see their hard work and progress throughout the program—and an even better way to finish the summer together.
Great job, athletes, and a big thank you to Coach Maks for pushing them all summer!
