Our students made program history! And the news!

The largest graduating class in the history of the Associate Degree Nursing program at Jones College celebrated more than academic achievement during the college’s Spring 2026 Pinning and Lamp Lighting Ceremony. For many graduates, the day represented perseverance, faith, family support and dreams fulfilled after years of sacrifice. Sixty nursing graduates crossed the stage during the ceremony, marking a milestone for the program and the surrounding healthcare community.

The Jones College Associate Degree Nursing Program faculty proudly represented excellence this week at the MOADN Convention held in Tupelo! 👏

We are especially proud of Dr. Nan Pritchard, who served as Education Director and played a key role in hosting a successful and impactful convention. Her leadership continues to elevate nursing education across the state. 💙

Mrs. Danielle Matthews and Mrs. Lea Green showcased their expertise by presenting professional topics during the scholarly poster presentations—highlighting the innovation and dedication of our faculty. 📚✨

Mrs. Emily Dunston and Mrs. Brittany Carter also attended, supporting and encouraging our students to engage, participate, and shine throughout the convention. Their mentorship makes a lasting difference! 🌟

A special congratulations to Abby Shows and Britton Dunnam for taking home the win in the Scholars Bowl 🏆—an incredible achievement celebrated by ADN students across the state!

We’re also proud of Breanna Harris, Abby Shows, Karli Youngberg, and Rhiannon Pitts for their outstanding professional poster presentations—showcasing both knowledge and dedication to the nursing profession.

And a big shoutout to Britton Dunnam for serving as the MOSA Nominations Committee Chair—your leadership makes a difference!

Faculty member Dr. Nan Pritchard and student Ms. Britton Dunnam represented Jones College Associate Degree Nursing Program at the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) National Convention in Nashville.

Ms. Dunnam serves as the Nominations Committee Chair for MOSA, a statewide student nurse organization. She exemplifies leadership and commitment to nursing.

Dr. Pritchard serves as the Education Director for MOADN and is responsible for obtaining speakers for the state nursing convention being held in Tupelo, MS in April 2026.

❤️💙 CHD Awareness in Class Today! 💙❤️

Today in class, we wore red or blue to show our support for individuals and families affected by congenital heart defects.

As we learned about congenital cardiac conditions, it was a meaningful reminder of the importance of early recognition, compassionate care, and advocacy for these patients.

Proud to stand together and raise awareness — every heartbeat matters! ❤️💙

Today, our level 5 nursing students had the honor of learning about current evidence-based burn care from UMMC Mississippi Burn Center charge nurse, C**t Mozingo, RN. Mr. Mozingo is a former graduate of Jones College AD nursing and has extensive experience in emergency and trauma care. Students left class today educated, informed, and inspired!
