Paramedics have fulfilled prescribed requirements by a credentialing agency to practice the art and science of out-of-hospital medicine in conjunction with medical direction. Through performance of assessments and providing medical care, their goal is to prevent and reduce mortality and morbidity due to illness and injury. Paramedics primarily provide care to emergency patients in an out-of-hospit

al setting. Paramedics possess the knowledge, skills, and attitudes consistent with the expectations of the public and the profession. Paramedics recognize that they are an essential component of the continuum of care and serve as linkages among health resources.

With our 2026 Jones College Paramedic class graduating at the end of the summer, we want to begin spotlighting them and their accomplishments throughout the last year. Malcolm Collett is from Petal, MS and completed his EMT in through the US Army in 2019. He currently works for LifeGuard Ambulance Service and his primary preceptor is Mr. Bailey Blanton. While at Jones, he earned the Letter J award and is active in the MSARNG. He is a fun individual, always quick with a laugh and smile that puts his patients at ease. Jones College EMS cordially invites all family, preceptors, coworkers, and supporters of the 2026 Paramedic Cohort to the 2026 Pinning Ceremony to be held this Thursday, July 30th at 6:00PM in the Home and Health Auditorium on campus. With our 2026 Jones College Paramedic class graduating at the end of the summer, we want to begin spotlighting them and their accomplishments throughout the last year. Phillip Boyd is from Hattiesburg, MS and completed his EMT in 2021. He currently works for AAA Ambulance Service and his primary preceptor is Ms. Sarah McFadden. While at Jones, he earned the Letter J award. Phillip is a great student who always shows up eager to learn and push himself. He volunteers constantly to assist with EMT classes and (as we learned at Thanksgiving) is also quite the chef! We wish Phillip much success in the future and are proud to call him a

With our 2026 Jones College Paramedic class graduating at the end of the summer, we want to begin spotlighting them and their accomplishments throughout the last year. Hunter Emfinger is from Mize,MS and completed his EMT in 2013 through the US Army where he served as a combat medic. He currently works for Covington County Hospital and his primary preceptor is Mr. Joey Freeman. While at Jones, he has been on the President’s List throughout and earned the Letter J award. Hunter is a great student and fun to teach, always seeking to learn more and take his practice to the next level. His favorite memory of paramedic school was “firefighter dragging Dustin further and faster than Dr. Williams during extrication training”, (which the faculty still disputes). With our 2026 Jones College Paramedic class graduating at the end of the summer, we want to begin spotlighting them and their accomplishments throughout the last year. Leah Green is from Louin,MS and completed her EMT and Advanced EMT from Jones. She currently works AmeriPro Health EMS and her primary preceptor is Mr. Jim Brown. While at Jones, she won the title of Mississippi Valor Mrs. Woman of Service and also received the Letter J award. She also is very active with Central Volunteer Fire Dept. as well as a member of Crowns for a Cause. Leah also gives back to the community teaching first responder mental health awareness courses all over the area. We wish Leah much success in the future and are proud to call her a
