We will be starting expanded hours for the ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT AT THE CHAPEL AT RESURRECTION ON MONDAY OCT. 12. This will happen during off-hours (122 out of 168 hours a week.) We are installing a key pad and cameras and good lighting on the lobby entrance facing the large parking lot and will be putting a sign-up on our website soon. There will be a “sign-up weekend” on Oct. 3-4 with members of the Adoration Committee in the lobby at Resurrection after every Mass. The software we will be using will allow people to sign up for hours weekly or once or twice a month. And your name will not be detectable to the public on the website. If a person is not sure they want to sign up regularly, they can sign up to be a “substitute.” You might sign up with some friends to try to handle an hour together too. When a person signs up for an hour, they will be given a code to use to enter the parish center off-hours. All adorants will be asked to NOT give the code to those not registered and to NOT let anyone into the chapel off-hours – only those who have the code will be able to enter the building. Finally, we have made a cabinet which can be opened and closed when the monstrance is or is not being used for Adoration. All a person needs to do is to close the cabinet when they leave or to open it up when arriving. // More information will be forthcoming as we get closer to the sign-up weekend.

Dear Brothers and Sisters – Pastor's Note, Sept 5-6

Beginning on Sept 13, we will begin having parishioners at St. Paul available to pray for other parishioners after Mass on some weekends and Masses. This is a simple opportunity to bring any intention, spoken or unspoken, and receive prayer from two fellow parishioners. The prayer team will be available after Mass by the infant of Prague statue.
If you have a family member or a friend who is Catholic and would like communion but is not now being visited by our parish, please contact Fr. Andy at [email protected].
SMALL FAITH DISCUSSION GROUPS begin the first week of October. We have groups for men, women, mixed and couples. We are going to have a SIGN UP for small faith-discussion groups after all Masses the weekend of Sept 19-20 at BOTH PARISHES. Many small groups will then begin meeting on different days of the week starting Sunday, Oct 4th. Please go to the home page of either parish at www.resurrectionmd.org or www.stpaulec.org and find the icon for small groups on the HOME PAGE of either site for times and days and contact information for the groups. This FALL we have small groups for single young adults, for young couples in their 20’s and 30’s, for young parents; and we will have a group conducted in Spanish.
You are invited to a half-day retreat from on Saturday Oct. 24th with Michael Stromberg at Church of the Resurrection. Michael is the Campus minister at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, MD. We will start at 8:30am with Mass and we will close at 12 noon. Continental breakfast will be provided.

Events at St. Paul and Resurrection: Fall 2026

Dear Brothers and Sisters: A note about a few things happening this Fall in the Pastorate of St. Paul and Resurrection. We hope you know of our prayers and that you know of God’s great love for you this Fall. -- Fr. Andy, Fr. Paul, Fr. SPECIAL EVENTS THIS FALL
1. FALL SERIES FOR SMALL GROUPS beginning in late Sept. We have groups for men, women, mixed and couples. a. This FALL we will have a weekly video and discussion questions on THE CREED sent out electronically and also posted on our websites for the small groups to use but also for families or groups of friends or workmates or schoolmates to view and discuss and pray about each week.
b. This FALL we have small groups for single young adults, for young couples in their 20’s and 30’s, for young parents; and we will have a group conducted in Spanish.
2. FALL RETREAT WITH MR. MICHAEL STROMBERG. We are also inviting all to a half-day retreat from on Saturday Oct. 24th with Michael Stromberg at Church of the Resurrection. 3. ADVENT EVENING OF PRAYER WITH MS. KRISTIN FISHER WITH “IGNITE” MINISTRIES. You are invited to start your Advent season with some inspiration and prayer on Sunday Nov. 29th. At 430pm you are invited to Mass at Resurrection. This will be followed by 5:45pm pizza in the Hall, a 630pm talk, and 715pm Adoration with music and silence closing at 8pm. There is no charge and all are invited.
4. TALK ON THE GOSPEL OF MARK WITH FR. JUDE WINKLER, OFM CONV. Fr. Jude, from the St. Anthony Shrine staff, will offer a thirty-minute-long talk on the Gospel of Mark at St. Paul on Wednesday, Dec 9 from 730-8pm in the main church. This will be in the context of having Adoration and confessions in the church that evening from 7-830pm.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
The chapel at Resurrection will soon have 117 hours a week (out of 168) when you can sign up for Adoration. Please go to the Resurrection website for details. Monday there is a rosary & Benediction at 630pm.
At St. Paul there is now an Adoration Chapel in the parish office building which can be accessed 9am – 2:15pm when the office is open. We also have regular times of Adoration in the church on Wednesdays at from 830– 930am and 7-830pm. Please go to the St. Paul page to sign up for Wednesday MORNING adoration.

YOUNG ADULTS – We have started a ministry for young adults (aged 21-35) for St. Paul and Resurrection. Part of this will be a faith-discussion group that will meet at St. Paul’s at 9am on Sats. Info about that is in the SMALL GROUPS icon on both parish websites. There will be other regular gatherings. It’s good not to walk alone in our faith. We had a training for small faith discussion group leaders on Thurs Aug 27. We'll be posting all the groups that will be meeting this Fall -- which include groups for men, women, for couples, for young couples in their 20's and 30's, for young families (1x a month) for young moms (1x a month), in Spanish, and mixed groups for anyone. There will contact info for each group posted on St. Paul's and Resurrection's websites on the home page through an icon called "Small groups" and there also will be a sign-up after ALL MASSES the weekend of Sept 19-20. Many groups will start the first week of October. Peace and pray about being in a group this Fall: It's a great way, for a lot of people, to grow in your faith and we have some great materials for the groups to use this Fall. Peace! Fr. Andy

If you are going to the Frederick Keys please sit on the 3rd base side around the middle of that side. Fr. Andy will be at the front gate at 630pm before the 7pm game to give out tickets and $20 cash to the altar servers who signed up. We had 18 new people from Resurrection, St. Paul and elsewhere come to be trained to bring communion to those in our institutions, those in homes, and to contact Howard County Hospital. Some others already involved were also at the training to talk about visiting in the home and in institutions. Please pray for all of these people that they get connected to the right people and place to do service and that Jesus gives them his grace and the Virgin Mary and all the saints pray for them in getting involved to do this important ministry of bringing communion to those who cannot come to Mass. Dear Brothers and Sisters -- There are so many people in-need out there that the situation can seem to be overwhelming to us. And so maybe we might even give up on trying to figure out what to do to help others in this world besides a small group of people who are close to us. But for us to decide to try to do SOMETHING to help others might just make the difference for another person to help them have hope instead of despair or love instead of anger. Here are SOME WAYS TO HELP with local CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF BALTIMORE programs that are relatively close to St. Paul and to Resurrection. - Making casseroles or bagged lunches at home and delivering them to MSPWC
