🐔 🌱 PBL is happening in the Eagles’ Nest! 🌱🐔

Our Kindergarten and 1st Grade students have been busy learning, researching, designing, and creating over the past few weeks! 📚💡

🐔 Kindergarten learned about the needs of animals, focusing on our very own chickens. They designed and built chicken coops using a variety of materials, making sure their designs met the chickens’ needs. 🏠🐓

🌱 1st Grade has been learning all about plants and what they need to grow. After reading books about plants, they became plant researchers, using nonfiction books to research different plants. 📖🔎🌻

We love watching our little learners take what they discover in books and turn it into real-world learning, creativity, and problem-solving! ❤️

Two big reasons to celebrate at Pine Ridge Elementary! 🎉

Last week, we were honored to welcome State School Superintendent Richard Woods to PRE to recognize our students and staff for two outstanding accomplishments!

🎨🔬 STEAM Recertification
Superintendent Woods presented PRE with our official STEAM recertification banner—the culmination of five years of hard work by our students and staff! This recertification reflects our continued commitment to meaningful STEAM learning, with an increased focus on integrating the arts across the curriculum.

✍️🇺🇸 John Hancock Banner & Ribbon of Distinction
This recognition was earned through the hard work of last year’s third grade students and their teachers! At least 90% of participating students demonstrated that they could write both their names and the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution in cursive, earning the John Hancock Banner & Ribbon of Distinction.

Those students are now our fourth-grade Eagles, and Superintendent Woods helped celebrate their accomplishment by presenting them with their own pocket Constitutions during his visit. 🇺🇸

Both recognitions reflect the dedication of our students and staff, as well as the incredible learning happening every day at Pine Ridge.

We are so proud of our Eagles! ❤️💙
