From Kenya to CWU: A Journey of Growth, Connection, and New Opportunities!

We're excited to see one of our IT Management graduate students, Ogut Stephen Asewe, featured in a recent CWU spotlight!

After building a successful career in finance and business, Ogut took on a new challenge by pursuing his Master's in Information Technology Management with a specialization in Cybersecurity.

His journey is about more than academics. From mentoring fellow graduate students to building meaningful connections across campus, Ogut is a wonderful example of what it means to be part of the Wildcat community!

We're proud to have Stephen as part of our ITM family!

Moving from Kenya to Ellensburg, Central Washington University international student Ogut Stephen Asewe brought with him a wealth of professional experience in accounting, auditing, taxation, finance, and administration.

Don’t wait—give today and help make internships possible for CWU students.

For many IT Management students, the biggest barrier to completing an internship isn’t passion or ability—it’s cost. Expenses like transportation, short-term housing, professional preparation, and required tools can make it difficult to accept valuable, career-building experiences.

Through this "Building Tomorrow's Tech Leaders" Give Central campaign, your support helps remove those barriers. Gifts fund awards of up to $500 for students completing department-approved internships, allowing them to gain real-world experience, build confidence, and prepare for leadership roles in IT, cybersecurity, and innovation.

Our goal is to raise $2,500 from 50 supporters—and every gift brings us closer to making these opportunities accessible to more students.
