Have you ever thought about being a sustainability ambassador? What about working with purchasing to buy more sustainable goods? You’re in luck!

We are currently hiring for all 3 ambassador positions, as well as our new procurement intern position! Now is your chance to bolster your resume by developing your project management, event coordination, and public presentation skills. Just in time for move-out, spring cleaning, and decluttering: our annual Don’t Waste, Donate! campaign starts TODAY!!!

Curious as to what types of items we’d love to take off your hands? We got you, Wildcats… from textbooks to toasters, we’ll help you lighten the load so you can focus on acing finals and moving out stress-free 😎

Donation bins are ALL OVER campus, strategically placed to make donating the most convenient option. Our interactive map (link in bio) has pictures of each location in case you’re having trouble spotting them!

Congratulations to all of our sustainability champions 🎉! Not only did we get to showcase student green fund project concepts, we also celebrated 11 nominated students, faculty, and staff last Wednesday at our final forum of this school year. Thank you to the sustainability community at CWU, for your constant dedication to sustainable efforts on campus. We wouldn’t be who we are without you all ♻️🌱

Congratulations to our Sustainability department coordinator Jordan Spradlin for being awarded the $10,000 NextCycle Materials award🏅! This award money will go directly into bettering our school’s circular waste economy via the Wildcat Farm compost initiative, and showcases CWU’s commitment to environmental improvements on campus.

Not only did Jordan bring home the gold, but two of our sustainability ambassadors were funded scholarships to attend the WSRA conference with Jordan and represent the CWU student body. Brooke and Hannah got the chance to network with professionals in the recycling world, model in a “Trashion show”, and learn about current developing recycling policies happening across the state. Thank you WSRA and NextCycle for giving this university the opportunity to put ourselves on the map as sustainable innovators 🐾♻️🌱

Help us celebrate individuals making a difference! We’re seeking nominations for students, staff, and faculty who have been sustainability champions this year. Whether through leadership, innovation, or everyday action, we want to highlight those creating a more sustainable campus.

Selected nominees will be recognized at the Sustainability Forum on May 27th from 4:00 - 5:30 PM in SURC 137.

Don’t mind us, just reminiscing on this year’s jam-packed Earth Week, and all of the amazing students we were able to connect with, educate, and help build sustainable habits!

We’re already excited for all of next year’s Earth Week events, but in the meantime… there are a TON of ways to get involved with us before the quarter ends 😁 Keep an eye on our feed and stories to see what we’re up to before the year comes to an end!

This Wednesday (4/22) we will be at the SURC fixing items like the ones listed above from 11 am - 3pm!! Bring your torn clothes, broken jewelry, and old bikes that need a tune up to SURC 137B and the SURC West Patio to have them looked at FOR FREE!!
Don’t have anything in need of repairs? No worries, stop by to check out the casual clothing closet pop-up shop! Let’s make this Earth day one to remember 🪡🌎👕🌱
