A heartfelt thank you to our area first responders, volunteers, makeup artists, and the North Dakota Safety Council for participating in yesterday’s active shooter training exercise.

The time, energy, and attention to detail that went into the planning, preparation, and ex*****on of this event provided a meaningful and realistic learning opportunity for our staff. We are grateful for the collaboration and professionalism that made the experience so valuable.

Although we hope these skills are never needed, yesterday reminded us of an important truth: you don't know what you will do in a critical situation if you have never stopped to think about it. Training like this helps us prepare, reflect, and strengthen our ability to respond when it matters most.

Thank you for your partnership and commitment to keeping our schools and communities safe.

As a reminder, this training event is taking place today.

Ellendale Public School will be hosting an active shooter training exercise on school grounds Thursday, August 20. The training will involve local and area first responders, including law enforcement, fire, EMS, helicopters, and other emergency personnel.

You may notice increased emergency vehicle activity and other training-related activity around the school. Please do not be alarmed—this is a planned training exercise designed to help our staff and first responders prepare for and respond to an emergency.

An email was sent through our new information system, Infinite Campus, on Monday, August 17, to all parents detailing how to create a parent account. PowerSchool is no longer being used in our district, so if you want access to your student(s) information, you will need to create a new account.

If you did not receive the email, you can make sure we have the most up to date contact information on file by calling the school office or letting us know during Open House on Wednesday, August 19, from 4:30-6:30 pm!
