I know I shouldn’t have done this, but I am 83 years old and I was in the McDonald’s drive-through this morning and the young lady behind me leaned on her horn and started mouthing something because I was taking too long to place my order. So when I got to the first window
I paid for her order along with my own. The cashier must have told her what I'd done because as we moved up she leaned out her window and waved to me and mouthed "Thank you.", obviously embarrassed that I had repaid her rudeness with kindness.
When I got to the second window I showed them both receipts and took her food too. Now she has to go back to the end of the queue and start all over again,
Don't blow your horn at old people, they have been around a long time.

Aurdal Church has been at the same location on the state line since 1883. It was founded by Norwegian Immigrants and has a venerable history, some of it recorded on the tombstones in the graveyard next to the building. Every year they hold a special service. This year it fell on September 11. There was a good crowd there and they sang lots of hymns and sang loudly--led by a big harp played by Natanya Olson.

There were a few people who did not make it out of the door in time for the photo, or else they were shy. It was a good crowd. There was a nice luncheon and visiting time at Berheim's lodge afterward.

Bluegrass Music by a North Dakota band! The Waddington Brothers, based in Regent, ND, performed June 17 at Ellendale's South Park.

Summer hours for the Coleman Museum in Ellendale are now posted. They are Tuesdays and Fridays from 1:00 to 4:00. If you are having a reunion or other special event and would like a tour at a different time (even on a weekend), call Ken at 701-320-2794. We will do our best to accommodate you. Admission is free and donations are appreciated.

Jim Puppe spent fourteen years interviewing people from all over North Dakota, and produced this book. Now he's coming to Ellendale for a presentation (Saturday, May 22, 2021).

Jim Puppe will be our guest speaker for the Annual Meeting on May 22. This will be good.
