📣 Calling All Incoming 5th Grade Blazers! 📣

We’re excited to welcome our future RCMS students to 5th Grade Transition Camp on Tuesday, July 28!

This is a great opportunity for students to get comfortable before the first day of school. They'll meet teachers and classmates, learn their way around the building, participate in fun activities, and get a head start on what to expect as a middle school student.

Parents are invited to attend a brief meeting at 8:30 AM, and students will enjoy breakfast and lunch during the day.

Congratulations to our students who achieved 95% or better attendance for the 2025-2026 school year! 🎉

Showing up each day matters, and these students demonstrated dedication and commitment throughout the year. Their hard work earned them membership in our 95% Club!

Students received certificates and had the opportunity to choose multiple prizes as a reward for their outstanding attendance.

We are proud of each of these students for making attendance a priority and helping make our school a great place to learn and grow. Keep up the great work, Blazers! ❤️💙

A huge congratulations to our four students who achieved Perfect Attendance for the entire 2025-2026 school year! 🎉

Missing zero days of school all year long is no small accomplishment. Their commitment, responsibility, and dedication to being at school every day paid off!

As a reward, each student received a $50 Amazon Shopping List Certificate and had the opportunity to create their own shopping list for items they wanted.

We are proud of these students and thankful for the families who helped make this achievement possible. Great job representing what it means to show up, work hard, and make every day count! ❤️💙

☀️ Mountaineer Food Bank is returning with FREE Summer Meals starting Monday! ☀️

Open to ALL families with school-age children, these meal boxes include breakfast, lunch, and milk to help keep kids fed throughout the summer. 🍎🥛

As the final bell rang yesterday, our RCMS staff lined the hallways to cheer on our students and celebrate an amazing year together. With lights dimmed, music playing, and glowing foam wands waving, it was the perfect sendoff into summer break! ☀️🎶

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for making this school year one to remember. We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and well-deserved summer! 😎✌️

What a way to wrap up the school year at RCMS! Today was packed with fun, laughter, and memories as our students celebrated the last day of school together.

Students enjoyed:
🐢 An amazing animal presentation where they learned about — and even got to pet — tortoises, snakes, a porcupine, a little piglet, and a baby kangaroo!
🐐 An outdoor petting zoo
🍧 Kona Ice treats
👕 T-shirt signings and tie dye activities with friends and classmates

Even with the rain moving in and out throughout the day, we were able to beat the weather and make sure every grade got their chance to enjoy the activities during !

A HUGE thank you to our amazing partners who helped make today possible:
❤️ Our PTO for volunteering, purchasing the animal presentation, and providing student T-shirts
💙 The WVU Extension Office for leading the tie dye activities
❤️ Communities in Schools for sponsoring Kona Ice as part of our end-of-year attendance celebration

Reminder: Tomorrow, May 27, 2026 is the last day of school for students!

We have officially crossed the finish line of another incredible school year! Ritchie County Schools would like to thank our wonderful students, dedicated staff, and supportive families for making this year such a success.

We are so proud of everything our students have accomplished. Have a fun, safe, and relaxing summer vacation—we can't wait to see you back in August!
