These 4th graders were challenged to write the instructions on “How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich”. We then acted as if we were robots and followed their instructions. We learned that robots do not guess what we mean. They can only do what we literally code them to do. So we worked on our algorithms (step-by-step logic or sequencing), and had to debug some since we didn’t want to eat the jars! Their expressions tell it all! 🤖💻⌨️

🏗️🐾 4th Grade STEAM Teamwork Tower Challenge!
Our 4th graders put their teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills to the test by working together to build the tallest tower possible using only clothespins and popsicle sticks!
Teams had to communicate, share ideas, plan their designs, and persevere when their towers came tumbling down! 😄
This hands-on challenge showed students that great teamwork means listening, collaborating, problem-solving, and never giving up! 💪🏗️

🍪🤝 STEAM LAB 1st Grade Teamwork Challenge! 🤝🍪
Our 1st graders have been learning that great teamwork takes communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and perseverance! Over the past couple of weeks, students watched videos, practiced working as a team, and learned how to work through challenges together.
This week, they put those skills to the test with our Bakery Shop Challenge! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳
Each team received 3 containers of playdough, a “rolling pin,” 2 baking trays, and a cookie cutter. Their mission? Create as many cookies as possible that were the same size, thickness, shape, and consistency—all while working within a set amount of time!
Students had to:
🍪 Communicate their ideas
🍪 Decide on jobs and roles
🍪 Collaborate and share materials
🍪 Problem-solve when things didn't go as planned
🍪 Use their materials wisely
🍪 Persevere through challenges
🍪 Skip-count their team's cookies at the end
What looked like a simple cookie-making activity was actually a hands-on, interdisciplinary STEAM challenge combining teamwork, communication, math, problem-solving, and creativity!
Way to go, 1st Grade! You proved that when we work together, we can accomplish BIG things! 🐾
