🍎 Welcome to the Leeds Elementary Family, Lara O’Connor! 🍎
We are so excited to introduce our newest Special Education teacher, Lara O’Connor!
Lara joins us after a successful first year teaching at North East and a prior year of full-time substituting. Before finding her true calling in the classroom, Lara worked as a freelance copywriter and virtual admin. She decided to transition into teaching after falling in love with the profession during her time as a substitute, and she’s thrilled to make Leeds her new "home" after hearing so many wonderful things about our school community!
Get to know Ms. O’Connor:
🏠 Local Roots: She has lived in Perryville for 17 years and has three sons who attended Perryville schools.
🏃‍♀️ Active Life: When she’s not teaching, you might find her trail running or running barefoot on the beach!
🍳 Hobbyist: She loves to cook, bake, and write—she is even hoping to publish her first chapbook of writing next year!
🔬 Passions: Lara has a deep love for science, especially physics and neuroscience, and enjoys exploring the nature of our universe.

CCPS families, please see the following information regarding immunizations for the upcoming school year. You may reach out to your student's primary care provider to ensure they are up to date for school.

The Cecil County Health Department will also be holding immunization clinics before the start of school, with appointments available starting in August.

Maryland Elementary Requirements (K-5):
Standard immunizations for elementary school in Maryland include:

DTaP/DTP/DT: 4 to 5 doses
Polio: 3 to 4 doses
Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR): 2 doses
Varicella (Chickenpox): 2 doses for Kindergarten through 5th Grade
Hepatitis B: 3 doses

It's that time of year to start purchasing back-to-school supplies. Also, we will be taking donations if you can purchase additional items from your child's list. It will go right to the grade-level team to support families who may have trouble getting the items.
