🍎Happy National Be a Teacher Day!🍎

✏️Celebrated annually on the second Thursday in October, this day recognizes the incredible educators who color our world with imagination, kindness, and learning. Teaching is one of the most creative and impactful careers a person can pursue, and today we invite you to celebrate those who make a difference. The celebration does not stop here—host events all year long to inspire the next generation of teachers.

Have you ever thought about becoming a teacher?

Today is a great day to think about the teachers who have made a difference in your life—and maybe even consider whether YOU could be the teacher who makes that difference for someone else! Be sure to thank a teacher today!

On Thursday, October 1st, 21 East Rockingham High School members of the ❤️🤍 Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) 🤍❤️ attended FCCLA Day at the State Fair of Virginia in Doswell, Virginia.

Over 1,000 members, advisers, and chaperones from all over Virginia enjoyed a day filled with educational and leadership opportunities - and of course fair food 🍿🍕🌭🍦 and carnival rides 🎠🛝🎡🎢

Members were given the opportunity to participate in four FCCLA contests – FCCLA Poster, Brand FCCLA Wear - Accessories, Brand FCCLA Wear - Clothing, and Brand FCCLA at Home. FCCLA state officers, including our very own Ariana Stroop judged the projects based on originality, creativity, and neatness. Each participant received a ribbon for his or her entry and the top winner in each of three levels received a trophy.

Students Nationwide: We Want to Hear From You!

The National Be A Teacher Day Coalition, led by FCCLA, is gathering feedback from students in grades 6-12 across the nation to better understand how they view careers in education and what influences their interest in the profession.
The survey takes less than five minutes to complete and is open to all students in grades 6-12, whether or not they are an FCCLA Member. Students do not need to be considering a career in education to participate.

Complete the survey:

If you are a student, or if you teach, mentor, support, or know students in grades 6-12, please help us spread the word!

Please share this post and encourage students in your school, chapter, classroom, organization, or community to participate.

National Be A Teacher Day is a national initiative focused on elevating the teaching profession, increasing awareness of careers in education, and inspiring the next generation of educators.
