Wes Tucker, PGA Director of Golf attended the PGA District 13 meeting and education at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. The event was hosted by District 13 Director Cary Brown, PGA and included PGA Section Officers from South Florida, North Florida and Geogia along with their Executive Directors. Eric Eshleman current PGA National Secretary and incoming Vice President was also in attendance to share a broader state of the industry prospective.

It’s time for our second aerification of the year! 🌱⛳
To keep the course in great shape, we’ll be aerifying:
• Monday (8/3): Tees
• Tuesday (8/4): Driving Range
• Wednesday (8/5): Fairways & Greens
• Thursday (8/6): Fairways & Greens

Hours of Operation:
● Monday (8/3): Driving Range closes at 4:30 PM.
● Tuesday (8/4): Driving Range reopens after 10:00 AM.
● Wednesday (8/5): COURSE CLOSED due to scheduled clubhouse electrical work and aerification.
● Thursday (8/6): Tee times begin at 11:03 AM.
Aerification is an important part of keeping our course healthy and providing the best playing conditions throughout the year. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this necessary maintenance.

🚧 Course Maintenance Update – Aerification Schedule

To help keep our course in great condition, we’ll be completing our second aerification. Please note the following schedule:

📅 August 3 – Driving range closes at 4:30 PM

📅 August 4 – Driving range will reopen at 10:00 AM

📅 August 5 – Golf course closed due to scheduled electrical work in the clubhouse. The driving range will remain open, and our maintenance team will be aerifying the greens and fairways.

📅 August 6 – Aerification work will continue on the greens and fairways. Tee times will begin at 11:03 AM.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we complete this important maintenance. These practices help ensure the best possible playing conditions for the months ahead. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you on the course! 🌱🏌️

⚡ Have you ever wondered how our lightning warning system works? ⛳

At St. Johns Golf Club, your safety comes first. We use the THOR GUARD Lightning Detection System, which monitors the electrical energy in the atmosphere to detect dangerous lightning conditions.

Here’s what the horn signals mean:

🔊 One Long Blast – Please head to the clubhouse or a safe shelter immediately. The course, driving range, and practice areas should be cleared.

🔊🔊🔊 Three Short Blasts – The system has determined it’s safe to return to the course and resume play.

⏱️ How long is the delay? There isn’t a set time. THOR GUARD continuously monitors conditions and only sounds the all-clear when it’s safe. While it’s often around 30 minutes after the last lightning activity, every storm is different.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to keep everyone safe. Your safety is always worth the wait. ⛳⚡
