An exciting step forward for cancer care in Western Maryland. 💙

MHA was pleased to join Garrett Regional Medical Center President & CEO Mark Boucot and his team, along with representatives of Angela Alsobrooks' office, Sen. Chris Van Hollen, and Rep. April McClain Delaney, to celebrate $1 million in congressionally directed funding to support planning for radiation oncology services.

This investment brings Garrett County and the surrounding region closer to having critical cancer care available close to home. 🎗️

🩸 The American Red Cross has declared a national blood supply crisis after donations fell to a four-year summer low. Hospitals are facing increased demand during trauma season, and supplies of type O blood have become especially critical, prompting the Red Cross to limit distributions.

If you're eligible, consider donating blood. One donation can help save multiple lives. ❤️
Appointments can be made by visiting the Red Cross’ website, or by calling 1-800- RED CROSS.

Every patient has a story—and every story reminds us why Care Takes All of Us. ❤️

After Betty faced both breast and uterine cancer, her daughter Laura made preventive screenings a priority. That decision led to the early detection of her own cancer—giving her the opportunity for timely treatment and a brighter future.

Hospitals are at the heart of Maryland's health ecosystem, advancing prevention, expanding access, and delivering quality care for families across our state.

🎥 Watch Betty and Laura's inspiring story and see why Care Takes All of Us. ❤️

💙 Supporting healthcare workers means finding solutions to the everyday challenges that can make it harder to stay and grow in their careers.

The University of Maryland Medical System is doing just that through workforce initiatives like its Road to Relief program, which provides zero-interest loans to help employees purchase used cars. 🚗 By addressing barriers like transportation, UMMS is helping frontline caregivers get to work, support their families and build lasting careers in healthcare.
