On every report that I have read, the sage-grouse need sagebrush in order to have good breeding habitat. Fire is the # 1 killer of sagebrush and sage-grouse. One of the biggest predators of sage-grouse is the Raven, they raid the nest while the hen is gone and eat the eggs. Sagebrush is 100% of sage-grouse diet in the the winter.
