Students from Elko High School’s Migrant and English Learner programs, supported through Title funds, recently traveled to Reno for a two-day field experience focused on enrichment and exploring postsecondary opportunities at the University of Nevada, Reno and throughout the community.

While on campus, students participated in an admissions presentation, a guided tour, and lunch, gaining a firsthand look at academic programs, student resources, and college life. The trip also included interactive experiences at the Nevada Museum of Art and the Fleischmann Planetarium, connecting learning to real-world applications in art, science, and technology.

Together, these experiences gave students a clearer vision of what their futures can hold and the pathways available to get there.

About the Migrant Education Program
The Migrant Education Program (Title I, Part C) provides federal support to help migratory students overcome the challenges of frequent moves and succeed academically. Serving youth ages 3 through 21, the program ensures students have consistent access to quality education and the resources needed to meet the same academic standards as their peers, regardless of where they live or move.
