We are so grateful to announce this generous $100,000 gift from Orla Mining - South Railroad to help fund a new Industrial Maintenance instructor based at our Elko Campus.

A tremendous thank you to the Orla Team for ensuring our GBC students have access to high-quality training that empowers them to build sustainable careers and strong futures.

We’re grateful to Orla Mining - South Railroad for their $100,000 investment in Great Basin College to support workforce education in rural Nevada.

This gift will fund a new Industrial Maintenance instructor, allowing GBC to expand hybrid program options designed for students who are balancing work and family responsibilities with education.

By increasing instructional capacity and flexibility, this partnership helps remove barriers and opens doors for more students to pursue a high-demand, high-wage career without having to leave the workforce or their community.

We had an incredible time hosting students and community members at the 'Power of Connection' event! It was truly inspiring to see everyone come together, share experiences, and support each other. Huge thanks to the NV Energy Foundation for their generous grant, which not only made this event possible, but will also provide crucial access to free tele-therapy sessions for GBC students. This support is making a real difference in the lives of our students, and we’re so grateful for their partnership in this important initiative!
