Let’s talk.

Survivors guilt is hard. Unanswered questions. Rewinding the past. Replay can repeat.

You are never alone. Know your resources. Learn some new ones.

Download the Sound Off App. Have it on hand. Maybe you need to share it with someone someday. Maybe you use it someday. Maybe you become a battle buddy someday.

🌹The Missing Man Table.

Many people have heard of it, maybe even seen it, but what does it mean?

This year, we would like to invite any business, restaurant, classroom or household, to join us this Monday in displaying a Table of their own!

Although there is no specific date to officially commemorate the Missing Man Table, the origins take us back to Vietnam.

At the end of the Vietnam War, despite the return of 591 prisoners of war during Operation Homecoming, there were still 2,626 service members listed as unaccounted for.

Both the POW flag and Missing Man Table help to honor the promise listed at the bottom of the flag, ‘You Are Not Forgotten.’

🔘 round table for the everlasting concern
🤍 white tablecloth for purity
🌹 red rose for the ones we hold dear
❤️ red ribbon for continued determination
🍋 slice of lemon for the bitter fate
🧂 dash of salt for the many tears
🍷 inverted glass cannot toast or celebrate
🪑 the empty chair for those still unaccounted

These are the symbolic elements that make up the Table…

We invite you to share your own, some may choose to place a service cover, or many, for a specific loved one, or many. Some place a folded flag given to them in the soberest of ceremonies. Some choose to add a bible to show their faith and love.

Post a photo, share a story, attend a ceremony, wear your poppy this Memorial Day. 🌹

🤩 Welcome back Jasper!

We were shocked to learn Jasper had not found his forever family since he last came to visit…

So back by popular demand, he came back!

He was happy to help our students relieve some finals stress with hugs, licks, floppy ears and a wagging tail.

At only 9 months old, he is already such a smart and caring gentleman. He’s going to be a larger fella, but we have decided it’s just due to a giant heart 🥹❤️

Do you have a couch? Do you like big hugs and lots of love?

He’s your guy - please reach out to our friends at Endless Pawsibilities Foundation to bring this sweet boy home!

81 years ago today, V-E (Victory in Europe) Day was declared when German forces surrendered on all fronts. We honor all those who bravely served and sacrificed in World War II.
