First Week Complete! 🦅❤️

What a wonderful first week at Shining Light Christian Academy!

Our halls are once again filled with laughter, learning, friendship, and lots of excitement. We are so thankful for each of our students and the joy they bring to our school each day!

We are also incredibly thankful for the 14 staff members and those who serve behind the scenes to help make SLCA the special place that it is. From the classroom to the office and throughout the building, so many people pour their time, love, patience, and dedication into our students each day. We are truly blessed by everyone who works together to support our school and our students. ❤️

It has been such a joy to watch our students settle into their classrooms, meet new friends, and jump right back into learning. We are excited for all that God has in store for this school year!

✨ Meet our First Grade Teacher! ✨

My name is Erica Roth, and I am honored to join Shining Light Christian Academy as the first grade teacher. I have 11 years of teaching experience, including 7 years in second grade in Idaho, and most recently, 4 years in Kindergarten here in Elkins, WV. I hold a degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Literacy.

In addition to teaching, I am very involved in my local church where I serve as the Hospitality Team leader, host a discipleship group in my home, and serve as a youth leader for a variety of ministry and outreach opportunities. My deepest passion is for sharing the gospel and helping to equip others to go into the world to do the same. I can’t wait to guide young hearts in faith and learning.

Shining Light Christian Academy is seeking a 4th/5th grade teacher for the upcoming school year.

This is a unique opportunity to teach a small class of under 12 students in a Christ-centered, supportive school environment using BJU Press curriculum.

We are looking for someone who:
✔ Is certified in elementary education
✔ Has classroom experience (public, private, or substitute teaching)
✔ Loves working with children and integrating faith into learning
✔ Is flexible, caring, and ready to step into a close-knit school community.

🌿☀️ End of Year Picnic Fun! ☀️🌿

We had such a wonderful time celebrating the end of the school year together at our End of Year Picnic! Students, families, and staff enjoyed a day filled with laughter, games, good food, and sweet memories as we wrapped up an amazing year at Shining Light Christian Academy. 💛

It is always such a blessing to see our school community come together and celebrate all God has done throughout the year. ✨

🎓✨ Kindergarten Graduation Celebration! ✨🎓

What a special milestone for our little learners at Shining Light Christian Academy! We are so proud of our kindergarten students as they celebrate all they have learned and accomplished this year.

From learning their letters and sounds to growing in confidence, kindness, and faith, they have worked so hard and truly shined this year. 🌟

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful teachers, families, and staff who supported and encouraged them every step of the way.
