Students in Mr. Richardson’s Honors Civics classes at Elkins High School recently became “Legislative Engineers” as they explored how laws are made.

Students researched real-world issues they care about, developed their own proposed bills, and built 3D models showing how legislation moves through Congress to either become law or fail along the way.

This hands-on project challenged students to think critically, solve problems, and better understand how our federal government works.

Randolph County Schools Communities In Schools Site Coordinators and RCS Family Engagement Specialist Schell Hopwood attended the Keep the Ball Rolling event at Bridgeport High School, where they met with State Superintendent Michelle Blatt and generous donors.

Thanks to the Pack Family Foundation, Wing 2 Wing Foundation, and L&S Toyota, every public school in West Virginia received $1,500 to help meet students' basic needs.

It takes a community working together to care for the whole child. We appreciate these partners for investing in our students and public schools.
