πŸ“£ WEST VIRGINIA β€” WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

WVU Extension and the WVU Division for Land-Grant Engagement are conducting a statewide needs assessment, and we are asking West Virginians to take a few minutes to share what matters most in their communities.

Your input matters. The information collected through this survey will help guide future Extension programs, educational opportunities, resources, and services across West Virginia.

🌱 Agriculture, forestry, and natural resources are an important part of our communities and our state. If these areasβ€”or other issues affecting your family, farm, business, or communityβ€”are important to you, we need your voice represented in the results.

Please take 5–10 minutes to complete the survey and help us better understand how we can better help YOU and our communities.

βœ… Open to West Virginia residents 18 years of age or older
βœ… Responses are anonymous
βœ… Participation is voluntary
πŸ“… Survey deadline: October 31

Please share this post! We encourage our farmers, landowners, woodland owners, families, community members, businesses, organizations, and local leaders to participate. The more voices we hear from, the better we can understand the needs and priorities of the people we serve.

πŸ’™πŸ’› Take a few minutes. Make your voice count. Help us shape the future of Extension programming in West Virginia!

🧾 1:30 PM – Market Animal Sale

We invite everyone to come out and support our youth and the tremendous amount of hard work they have invested in their livestock projects.

These projects are so much more than what you see in the show ring or sale arena. Our exhibitors care for their animals every single dayβ€”feeding, watering, cleaning, training, keeping records, monitoring health, and preparing them for show and sale.

Take a stroll through the livestock barn today. At first, you may notice youth cleaning pens, brushing animals, filling water buckets, feeding, and getting ready for the day. But stand and watch a little longer, and you’ll see something much bigger happening.

You’ll see young people learning responsibility, patience, empathy, time management, financial management, recordkeeping, problem-solving, emotional regulation, how to handle stress, how to accept constructive feedback, and how to keep going when things don’t go exactly as planned. You’ll see confidence being built, friendships being made, families working togetherβ€”and a whole lot of fun along the way.

There simply isn’t enough space to list everything youth gain through 4-H and FFA livestock projects. Come see a little piece of it for yourself today.

Supporting the sale isn’t simply purchasing an animal. It’s investing in a young person, supporting agricultural education, and helping build the next generation of farmers, agriculturalists, leaders, and community members.

Whether you are a returning buyer, a first-time buyer, or simply want to see what our youth have accomplished, we encourage you to come out! If you have questions about becoming a buyer or how the sale works, just askβ€”we’ll be happy to help.

πŸ€ Proud of our youth. Support the future of agriculture. πŸ’™πŸ’›
