Elkins Mountain School Making the Success of Each Child A Priority! Youth enrolled in our program receive intensive treatment services designed to address their unique challenges.

Elkins Mountain Schools opened in 1987 in response to the state's desire to keep West Virginia children needing services closer to home rather than admitting them to out-of-state programs. These services are delivered in a campus and community setting that is located in the rural mountains of eastern West Virginia. This setting ensures the privacy of clients yet there is also immediate access to c

ommunity resources and community social and recreational opportunities. Elkins Mountain Schools provides residential services to boys from 13 through 17 years of age, and community-based services via our participation as a Youth Services contractor. Our programs are highly structured, and we use an array of behavioral management techniques. Committed staff work closely with the clients and their families, providing guidance and support. Through an educational and vocational curriculum, counseling, and extracurricular and lifeskills activities, Elkins Mountain Schools prepares the youth in our program to live responsible and productive lives.
