You can help fill the Time Capsule!
Walworth County is building a community Time Capsule for America’s 250th anniversary — and we need your help!
We’re collecting meaningful items from 2026 that capture today’s life in our towns, villages, schools, farms, businesses, and neighborhoods. Think of the stories, objects, and everyday moments you want future residents to discover 50 years from now.
Suggested items:
• Photos of local life, key landmarks, or parks
• Local postcards
• Letters or messages to the future from residents of all ages
• Local event posters, programs, or maps
• School newsletters or student art
• School mascots or decals
• Small artifacts representing our culture, values, and daily life
⭐ About the Time Capsule
The time capsule, a 40-liter (10.6-gallon) stainless-steel milk can, was chosen for its distinctly Midwestern charm, sturdiness, and size. The milk can is made of heavy-gauge stainless steel, is dent-resistant, and has an airtight sealed lid to help preserve time capsule items.
