Apples, apples, apples for the month of September’s theme! Even the younger classroom has apple activities, as well. These activities will be located in the main classroom, but we’ll bring them out one day per week for the 2’s and up to work on!

Lana’s Lil Learners Childcare & Preschool has one spot available for full time Monday-Friday. The desired age is for an older infant to young toddler between the ages of 17 months to 22 months. If the child has turned 2 yrs, they would be close to the age of two other toddler girls within the group! This child will join Miss Eliza’s classroom for approximately 3.5 hrs out of the week, which is really a short time, while the remainder of the day is with a variety of ages up to 4 years.

There are many benefits to having your child in a mixed age home-based childcare setting. In addition, smaller ratios are also very beneficial to a child, as well.

Lana’s Lil Learners is in the process of becoming a licensed home 2 facility with the capacity of up to 10 children any age and 2 providers if there’s 2 additional #9 & 10 or 8 children or fewer with 1 provider. Miss Eliza graduated from Millard North H.S. She’ll be assisting with the youngest children during our preschool hour. Ms. Lana will be teaching the preschoolers in the main classroom! We have quite a large preschool group this fall! We will have around 6-7 children in the main classroom. All the children will be together in the morning, during outdoor play, and at the end of the day for socialization.

Picture of our newest addition, Arlo. He’s so cute with Miss Eliza holding him!

I haven’t posted in a while! The summer sure sped by! Here we are now, this last week was our first week of getting situated into the respective classrooms. This year, there’s two classrooms! One is for the 1-2 year olds and the other is for the 2.5/3-5 yr old children!

Our preschool curriculum officially begins on Tuesday, September 8th after Labor Day!

I have one full or part time spot opening up for a child aged approximately 17-22 months. The hours for this fall are 8:00-4:30 pm.

First several pictures are of toys/activities from our younger child classroom for ages 12 months to 30 months of age.

The second several pictures are from our preschool classroom for ages approximately 3-5 years. Some children may be slightly younger if they enrolled in the program at the 1 yr mark and have advanced in the Montessori method of learning.

August’s theme is BUGS GALORE!

The children will specifically learn about bees and how they are the reason we have delicious plant foods, such as apples for September and pumpkins in October.

We are over half-way through the summer already! My group has been enjoying the outdoors with trikes, the water table, many walks to the neighborhood playground, picnic lunches, and cold treats.

Our July/August dramatic play theme is camping, stars/planets, and bugs.

Nearly 70% of Americans now say the American Dream either no longer holds true or never did.

That should make people uncomfortable.

Because the American Dream was supposed to be simple.

Work hard. Get ahead. Buy a home. Raise a family.

Build something better than what you came from.

Now the typical first-time homebuyer is 40 years old.

A record 55% of Americans say their finances are getting worse.

Over 22 million renters are cost-burdened, which means they’re spending more than 30% of their income on housing.

And somehow people still want to act like this is just a mindset problem.

No way. I still believe in hard work.

I still believe in personal responsibility. I still believe in saving, investing, building skills, and making better financial decisions.

But pretending the affordability crisis is just people being lazy is one of the dumbest financial takes out there.

People are working. People are trying. People are exhausted.

The problem is that the old promise used to feel like a ladder.

Now, for millions of Americans, it feels like the ladder keeps getting pulled higher every year.
