4th Grade Coat of Arms

What do you get when you mix medieval history, creativity, and 4th graders doing a little self-discovery?

A Coat of Arms Project!!!

Mrs. Muñiz's 4th graders are traveling back to the Middle Ages, when families used Coat of Arms to represent their family identity, values, and heritage.

Students in room D7 are exploring what make them THEM! They're brainstorming their personal beliefs, interests, and values and learning how to express their identities through symbols, colors, and words.

What must their COAT OF ARMS include?

A Motto or Quote that represents them
At least 4 meaningful symbols
At least 2 different colors
A written description explaining their design

Right now, students are working on their rough drafts and following Mrs. Muñiz's instructions to bring their unique designs to life! Every detail tells a story. And the best part? No two stories are exactly alike! We can't wait until the final masterpieces come together!

Gooo D-7 and your purposeful learning!!!

All first grades had Mr. Manley (Cleveland branch librarian) come in and read. He focused on national hispanic heritage month (which runs Sept. 15 - Oct. 15) by reading a book in both Spanish and English. The kids enjoyed listening to the Spanish language being spoken.
