I taught & coached for 13 years, six of which were at Concord High School. I am committed to my faith & family.

I want to thank everyone who supported me during the Concord School Board election season. It is humbling to have the opportunity to serve our district in this capacity. The Concord Football League is hosting a Football Family tailgate for tomorrow night's sectional championship game! This event is FREE to any player and their family with connection to the Concord Football program (CFL, CJHS, or CHS). CFL will provide hot dogs, burgers, and water.

Please RSVP for the football tailgate if you plan on attending using the form below by 4 pm today. We are going to start at 4:30 pm Friday and the tailgate will be located by the weight room at the high school.

Tickets to the game are not included but the tailgate is free! Let’s pack the Jake for the sectional championship!

POSITIVE POST PART 2. Concord continues to excel in all areas! We aren’t perfect but we have a ton to celebrate! Below are additional GREAT things that have happened in our district so far in 2024.

DID YOU KNOW:

The Marching Minutemen band is going to state once again. The band is made up of over 200 HS members. This is the 42nd time the band has qualified for state since 1973.

IREAD growth of 7%. State average increase of 0.6%

West Side IREAD increased 11.7%

Ox Bow IREAD was at 86% which is almost 4% higher than the state average

School Improvement Grant recipient - Over 4 million dollars from the DOE. Will support ELL students and students from low socioeconomic households. Concord had the highest rated application in the state

Approved long term facilities plan while LOWERING tax rate

Lowest tax rate in 20 years

Replaced the HS softball fields and parking lots at Ox Bow and East Side

Expanded opportunities for real world experiences for high school students. CHS has over 100 students in internships or apprenticeships

37 CHS students with AP Scholar Awards

20 of 21 AP PreCalc students earned a qualifying score

35 of 38 AP Government students earned a qualifying score

The average AP Biology score was 3.36 compared to the state average of 2.89

2nd cohort of Concord Advocates - designed to inform interested community members about various topics impacting Concord Schools

Boys and Girls Clubs have begun at CJHS and CIS

Although we have a lot of room for growth, CONCORD IS AWESOME! LET’S CONTINUE TO BE LEADERS IN OUR AREA AND THE STATE!

The Concord School Board race has been tough. I want to stop and reflect on some of the things that make Concord an incredible place to raise a family, to live, or to work. I LOVE OUR SCHOOL SYSTEM!

As the Concord fall sports seasons are winding down, I thought it would be cool to look at some of the GREAT things Concord has achieved this calendar year athletically. I’ll do another post this weekend about some of the great things we are doing in the classroom or as a district. Too many great things for one post!

DID YOU KNOW:

69% of Spring 2024 athletes earned scholar-athlete status

Girls Basketball - Dom Stilley broke school block shot record with 55 (old record of 40 set in 1993)

Boys Basketball - 2023-24 NLC Champions. Went 18-5 (most wins since 2012-13)

Wrestling - Donovan Cunningham, Jeremiah Riffle, and Kaiden Braden advanced to semi-state

Girls Swimming - 2023-24 NLC Champions (three years in a row), 2023-24 Sectional Champions (four years in a row), Placed eighth at state (third consecutive top eight)

Boys Swimming - 2023-24 NLC Champions (six years in a row), Have won 47 consecutive NLC dual meets

Baseball - Finished 20-11 after going 6-21 last year, Most wins since 1993, 2024 Sectional Champions, 2024 Regional Champions

Boys Track - 4x100 team placed 7th at State, Joe Moon placed 7th in State in the 100 meter dash, three more athletes competed at state

Girls Track - Lia Davis advanced to state in high jump

Football - Finished regular season 9-0 for only third time in school history, Won NLC for 15th time (tied for most ever by any NLC FB team), Ranked #1 in 5A

Boys Soccer - Won NLC for 10th time - first w record of 7-0, Won 11th sectional and 3rd regional, Tied school record for wins, First CHS Boys Soccer Team to advance to Final Four

Cross Country - Zoe Roberts broke school record w 19:10 at NLC Meet, Zoe Roberts and Jaxson Meyer will compete at state on Saturday

Fall 2024 - All team sports (FB / VB / BSOC / GSOC / BTennis) made it to the sectional championship or beyond, Individual sports (G Golf / BCC / GCC) all advanced to the regional round as teams.

VOTE FOR THE TWO TIMS ON NOVEMBER 5th TO KEEP CONCORD GREAT AND MOVING IN A POSITIVE DIRECTION!
