Elkhart Martial Arts will be closed for regular classes on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

The Power of a Yellow Belt 🥋💛

Teddy was pretty proud of earning his new yellow belt — and apparently he immediately understood that it came with some serious responsibilities.

His mom told us that after getting his belt, Teddy stretched his arms out in front of the family and announced:

“Everybody get behind me. I’ve got my yellow belt!”

White belt Teddy was learning martial arts.

Yellow belt Teddy is now responsible for family security.

Congratulations, Teddy! We love the confidence — and we’re pretty sure your family is in good hands. 💛

Senior Grandmaster Travis kicked off the return of this special workshop series with an excellent session on advanced kicking techniques and strategies. Students gained valuable insight, sharpened their skills, and experienced the kind of instruction that makes these workshops so special.

A special thank you to Senior Grandmaster Steven E. Travis for sharing his knowledge and love of Tae Kwon Do–Chung Do Kwan with our students and black belts yesterday—and throughout the past 56-plus years.

Your impact on our students, our academy, and the martial arts community is immeasurable. We are grateful for the legacy you continue to build and for every lesson you pass on to the next generation.

Thank you to everyone who participated. This was only the beginning!
