Today is National School Librarian Day, and we would like to highlight the amazing work done by North Side Middle School's library staff.

Every Tuesday, a group of the school's Intense Intervention students make the trip down to the NSMS media center. Once they're there, the staff welcomes them with generous open arms. A library assistant will read a book to them, often encouraging them to join in with reading the book out loud. Library staff then work closely with the students to check in, check out, and appropriately re-shelve books.

This is one example out of dozens district-wide of library staff going above and beyond for students of all needs and backgrounds. They are one of the crucial supporters of our ECS family, and we are incredibly grateful for them today and every day.

ADEC is proud to provide one of the only full-summer camps in the Michiana area that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Programming runs from June – August from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the exception of Independence Day. Summer camp is offered in both Elkhart and Mishawaka areas.

Summer Camp serves individuals aged 6-22 and is staffed with a 4:1 client-to-staff ratio of direct support professionals who are specifically trained to meet the needs of each client.

Each year on November 20th, National Child’s Day celebrates the potential of children’s dreams and ambitions. Families and educators unite to support children through STEAM projects and educational goals, encouraging curiosity and learning from an early age.

Education begins at home, with resources that nurture language, social skills, and critical thinking. Schools and communities emphasize science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM), preparing kids to become future innovators. Technology increasingly shapes our world, and children need skills to thrive in a tech-driven future.
