We had a fantastic visit to Brentwood Independent Living as part of the productive aging course! We were so thankful for the residents that volunteered - we even had more than we needed today! It is so nice to be welcomed into the community for the students to observe and practice everything they have been learning. They’ll build on this experience as they continue to hone their skills.

Just a reminder that submitting your OTCAS application for admission consideration to the Master OT program at IU South Bend must be complete by Sept 30, 2026. Only 30 days from today!

Here are some quick tips to help you complete the submission and assure that your application will be marked as complete by OTCAS

1. Verification from OTCAS takes time and your application isn't complete just because you hit submit.

2. Order your official transcripts from every university or college you attended and have them send it directly to OTCAS. Some schools only send transcript through regular (paper) mail...so it takes longer. This process can take between 10-14 days...don't stress yourself out waiting until the last minute. OTCAS doesn't start to verify your application until they receive all transcripts.

3. Don't save writing your personal essay until the end. Start writing early so you have time to revise. Share why occupational therapy IS the right career choice for you. Include your personal experiences and connect these to your future career goals. Review the program website to learn more about their curriculum, mission and more. In your essay, explain why you would be a good "fit" for their program.
