💛 Favorite part of teaching:
The aspect I most enjoy about my position at ECCLC is supporting the children that attend our center, as well as our staff that provide their care. Encouraging them to work towards their goals, and watching them grow! Celebrating their achievements is by far the most rewarding part of my job!
🌟 Fun Fact:
I am a volunteer firefighter and wouldn’t hesitate to enter a burning structure, but I WILL cry and run scared if I see a spider!

We are so thankful to have received this grant support for outdoor improvements! We truly appreciate the investment in our children, staff, and community. Thank you for helping us continue to grow and serve local families!

It's May, which means CCFF grants will be awarded soon! Ahead of the 2026 awards, we're sharing the impact of our 2025 grants this month.

Elkader Childcare Center used their 2025 CCFF grant to support an outdoor infrastructure improvement project to protect their facility from water damage and prepare for future playground enhancements. They re-graded the outdoor yard up to the building to improve drainage and reduce water intrusion, and removed an aging sandbox to clear space and lay the groundwork for upcoming playground improvements.

This grant was made possible thanks to the Leroy and Colleen Darby Family Endowed Donor-Advised Fund.

💛 Favorite part of teaching:
My favorite part is watching the daycare kids grow up, witnessing their milestones like learning how to walk and learning how to talk. I also enjoy the bonds you make with the kids. When they show up with a big smile because they are happy to see you. One year olds also give the best hugs!

I attended this daycare from the age of 1 - 8.
