Kids in the Village is thrilled to announce our collaboration with EEHK Schools to offer all-day care for preschool children—designed with working families in mind! 💼👶 Insuring that families have access to high-quality child care services when not attending preschool, providing a dedicated space for nuturing and growth outside the classroom.

Children enrolled in EEHK’s preschool program can enjoy a seamless day of learning and care, with transportation provided between the elementary school and our center.

🌟 Kids in the Village is Hiring! 🌟

Located inside the Exira–EHK High School Building

We’re looking for full‑time and part‑time team members — hours will vary.

If you have experience working with children, love to have fun, aren’t afraid to be silly, and can confidently rock pajamas or crazy hair on dress‑up days… this might be your calling. We’re looking for people with an “I’ve Got This” attitude who bring heart, flexibility, and positivity to our team.

Position Requirements & Responsibilities:
• Active supervision and meaningful interaction with children in a safe, developmentally appropriate manner
• Ensuring good hygiene and changing diapers as needed
• Cleaning and sanitizing interactive areas throughout the day
• Serving meals and snacks
• Organizing activities and following curriculum
• Helping children follow a daily schedule and routine
• Keeping records of each child’s progress, interests, and any concerns
• Maintaining communication with parents and contacting them in case of an emergency
• Completing required trainings (paid for by KITV)
• Completing fingerprinting and background checks

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be 16 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to maintain a high degree of efficiency when switching between tasks
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to constantly lift, twist, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, and reach
- Ability to routinely lift up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all children and staff

The State of Iowa now covers child care costs for all eligible child care providers who work 32 hours or more per week. This support is designed to help providers stay in the workforce and ensure continued access to quality child care across the state.
