Message from Dr. Edith Montemayor (TDC Founder):

Hello everyone! Kumusta po kayo? I hope you’re all doing well! I am truly inspired by all of the Filipino organizations I’ve been involved in for nearly 2 decades, and I would like to continue giving back to the larger community by proceeding with this big vision that I’ve been thinking about for a few years. I will be starting a new Filipino-American nonprofit organization in California this year which will consist of various programs that all relate to the Filipino language, culture, and traditions. Some of those programs also include connecting with and making a great impact of the people in the Philippines.

Our first informational session will be held today via Google Meet. This is open for all who are interested in joining or helping out in any way virtually and/or in person. We will have an open Q&A session at the end where you will have the opportunity to ask questions and share your input. You are more than welcome to invite others who you think would be interested in participating as well. This meeting is first come first served to the first 150 people, so I hope to see you there!

Applications for members, staff, and board members will be available to the public after the meeting. Once the filing process for the organization is complete, we will officially begin our meetings, events, rehearsals, and performances that are aimed to promote and preserve the Filipino culture.

I’m looking forward to seeing those from various Filipino organizations in California, those in the Philippines, and those who are intersted that will be attending this meeting (6/15/23 from 6:30-10:30 pm Pacific Time and 6/16/23 from 9:30-1:30 pm Philippine Time). If you’re unable to attend the meeting but would like to get involved, please let me know or send an email to [email protected] so that we can keep you updated. I hope you consider participating in any way that you can! Feel free to reach out to me at any time if you have questions. Maraming salamat po!
