Last month, we had the opportunity to host CPS students interested in the trades for a hands-on experience—and it was a huge success! 🛠️
With five interactive activation stations, students explored different aspects of the trade, including:
• Panel discussion & career fair
• Scaffold Erector station
• Nailing & Concrete Form Building station
• Drywall Installation station
• Computer lab station
Our goal is to inspire the next generation and show students the possibilities within our trade—with the hope that one day they’ll join us as Union Carpenters.
A big thank you to Instructors Jasmine Lopez and Jonathan Pugh (PA Group 982) for organizing and setting up the activation stations.
We also extend our appreciation to Instructors Jason Rodriguez, Brian Payne, Dave Dutkanych, and Derrick Wren, along with Assistant Director Victor Ceron, Assistant Coordinator Lucia Alvarado, Outreach Specialist Yolanda Valadez, Local 10 BA Jose Sanchez, and Local 1 BA Myron Dent for their support in making this event possible.

A little late posting this, but HUGE congratulations to PA Group 979! 👏
They’ve since completed their 7-week Pre-Apprenticeship AND very first class as a 1st year Apprentice. Your hard work and dedication is what is going to make your career successful. 🛠️💪
