Antler Alert: our attendance winners on Friday were 4th- Mrs. Hodge, 5th-Mrs. Sheppard, 6th-Mrs. Murphy. Our staff of the week were our wonderful paraprofessionals. They work tirelessly with our students. They are team players who step up to help staff and students in every situation and they do it with a positive attitude and kindness. We are grateful that they are FOR the BROWN and WHITE!

Mr. Joe Thompson came today to recognize our Lion Cubs for September and October! These students show excellent citizenship characteristics consistently and in every area. We are so thankful for a community to celebrates and recognizes our students. Congratulations to our cubs for September and October! We are very proud of you! 🤎🤍

We have so many students that do great things all the time! Being Ready, Responsible, and Respectful are things we consistently watch for and wanted to celebrate students who demonstrate any/all of these characteristics.

When we catch them, they get a "Herd Hero" to show their family and a chance to win a Perk with Principals!

For the month of September, these students were drawn and our perk was a paid trip to Hutch's for a slushie. We love celebrating our students for showing pride in themselves, our school, and our community.

Antler Alert: This week's attendance winners were 4th grade- Bruner, 5th grade- Carlucci, 6th grade- Cloud. Our teacher of the week is Mrs. Sheppard. She teaches 5th grade Science and Social Studies. Mrs. Sheppard's love of Science and Social Studies is evident when she teaches. She brings lessons to life using a variety of resources. She runs a very structured classroom where students understand the expectations and step up to meet them. She understands student data and modifies for students as needed. We sure appreciate Mrs. Sheppard and the pride that she takes in her job as an educator everyday!

Opportunity for 4th Grade students!

ECSC is bringing something new to Thursday nights. ⚽🔥

This fall, Elk City Soccer Club is giving young players another way to play.

Introducing JOGA NIGHTS.

Five Thursday nights of small-sided pickup soccer built around one simple idea:

Let kids play.

No assigned teams.
No standings.
No weekend travel.
No complicated league structure.

Players will show up, get grouped into small teams, play quick games, rotate teammates and opponents throughout the night, and get as many touches, decisions, opportunities, and challenges as we can possibly give them.

Coaches will be there to organize, encourage, and keep the games moving. But once the ball rolls?

The game belongs to the kids.

Whether your child already loves soccer or simply wants somewhere to play, they’re welcome.

For enrichment this quarter, Mrs MWilliams homeroom enjoyed working with Mrs Snipes for Art. For this class they learn various art methods and styles and get to create some pretty impressive pieces. This week they worked to create their own fuse bead designs. They showcased some very unique and creative designs and you can see how proud they are of their work. Art is always one of the student's favorite enrichment classes because Mrs Snipes is always coming up with the most wonderful projects for the kids to learn. Whether it is a core class or an enrichment class our teachers and students always show what it looks like to be FOR THE BROWN AND WHITE!

The 6th grade science classes of Mrs MWilliams, Mrs Copeland, and Mrs Cloud used Starburst candy to learn how rocks go through the different stages of the rock cycle. They used the candy to create the sediment and sedimentary rock. They applied heat and pressure through friction using their hands to create metamorphic rock, and then melted their rock on a hot plate to create igneous rock. At the end they were able to eat and enjoy their creations. Using hands on representations helps the students have visual concrete examples of geologic process that happen underground. They then completed their end of unit assessment and did amazing! We are always trying new ways to make learning fun! It's what we do being FOR THE BROWN AND WHITE!

Today Mrs. Carlucci's class worked on main idea, context clues, and author’s purpose. They read about Pablo Picasso and created pumpkins inspired by his work. It's what we do in the brown & white! 🤎🤍
