We are very excited to have Calm Waters Student Grief Support Groups at Elk City Public Schools again this fall! Calm Waters has trained facilitators that will provide group grief counseling to our students. Support groups are offered in-person, at school and free of charge! Students are eligible for this program if they have experienced a loss related to death, divorce, deployment, deportation, incarceration, foster care, adoption, and/or immigration/refugee status. Students who have previously participated must be re-registered if they wish to attend another session this fall. There is no limit to the number of times a student may participate in Calm Waters programming.

We are so thankful for Elk City United Methodist Church for hosting a hygiene supply drive to support our schools! 🤍

Thanks to their incredible generosity, students across our district who need assistance accessing basic hygiene supplies will have those necessities readily available.

These supplies will be distributed to students at Elk City Elementary and Elk City Intermediate as needed. Students at Elk City Middle School and Elk City High School will also have access to these items through the food pantries, where they can take what they need, when they need it.

We are incredibly grateful for a community that recognizes the needs of our students and steps up to support them in such a meaningful way. Thank you, Elk City United Methodist Church, for helping ensure our students have the basic necessities they need to feel confident, cared for, and ready to learn! 🤍

📢 Did you know—

If your student has any of the medical conditions below, we recommend that you complete an individualized emergency medical plan so that we know how to best manage your child’s diagnosis. These forms went home in the backpacks of Elk City Elementary and Elk City Intermediate students last week and were mailed to the homes of Elk City Middle School and Elk City High School students early this week. Please complete and return those forms to the school nurse ASAP. If you have any questions, call or text Nurse Lindsay Marks at (580)339-2382.

Health educators from OSDH will be at the high school commons next Tuesday 8/18/26 from 5:00-6:00 for parent night. If you have a 9th grader this year, they WILL participate in lessons from the curriculum Rights, Respect, Responsibility. If you have a 7th grader, they may, depending on their electives schedule, participate in lessons from the curriculum Making A Difference. Both of these curriculums will be available to review as well as the health educators present to answer any questions you may have during parent night. If you do NOT want your child to participate in these lessons, you will need to come by and sign the declination form or contact nurse Lindsay at [email protected] or (580)339-2382.
