Today is the feast of the Archangels, St. Michael, St. Gabriel, and St. Raphael.

The most overlooked one is St. Raphael, whose name means “God has healed” or “God heals.”

To grow in greater devotion to St. Raphael, read the Book of Tobit. St. Raphael speaks many beautiful words and reminds us to fear nothing and to always praise God.

Join us in the following prayer for physical and spiritual healing from any ailment or addiction.

PRAYER TO ST. RAPHAEL THE ARCHANGEL

Glorious Archangel St. Raphael, great prince of the heavenly court, you are illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and grace. You are a guide of those who journey by land or sea or air, consoler of the afflicted, and refuge of sinners.I beg you, assist me in all my needs and in all the sufferings of this life, as once you helped the young Tobias on his travels. Because you are the “Medicine of God” I humbly pray you to heal the many infirmities of my soul and the ills that afflict my body. I especially ask of you the favor (here mention your special intention), and the great grace of purity to prepare me to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Today is the feast day of St. Thomas of Villanova, OSA. He was a Spanish Augustinian friar, preacher, ascetic, and religious writer. He served as Archbishop of Valencia from 1545 to 1555 and loved the poor. He lived from 1488 to 1555.

Only the love of Christ can heal all hearts.

Yes, Christ’s sacrificial love on the Cross is the answer to our addictions.

May we always freely respond to Christ’s unmerited and unconditional love.

May we love God with every fiber of our being.

St. Thomas of Villanova, pray for us.

Last week, the Catholic Church celebrated the feast day of St. Augustine of Hippo. Augustine was one of the greatest saints. Before his conversion, he was one of the greatest sinners.

Nothing is impossible for God.

Christ Crucified is the remedy to our disordered, sinful inclinations.

May His Holy Wounds be our refuge in times of temptation as well as in our failures.

Today the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of King St. Louis IX of France, who lived from 1214 to 1270.

At the age of twelve, he became the King. He was a loving husband and father of eleven children. He also practiced great ascetism.

He wrote a beautiful letter to his oldest son, who became Philip III. The quote in this post is from that letter.

St. Louis IX governed his people with courage, humility, and, above all, faith.

The city of St. Louis is named after him.

Let us always stay faithful to the Church of Rome and show reverence to our Holy Father. He needs our prayers!

Home is in the Catholic Church, where Christ purifies our souls in His sacraments.
