Saturday is National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, but since there is no school, we wanted to celebrate our SROs today!

Elizabethtown City Schools proudly recognize the valuable work of their School
Resource Officers (SROs) during National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day on February 15. Our SROs play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and the entire school community.

Beyond their role in maintaining security, SROs serve as mentors, educators, and trusted figures who foster positive relationships between law enforcement and young people. Their presence in our schools helps create a safe and supportive learning environment while also providing guidance, conflict resolution, and safety education to students.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated SROs for their commitment to protecting and uplifting our students every day. Thank you for your service, leadership, and unwavering dedication to our schools!

Our community lost one of our Panther Family yesterday. Mr. Kenny Barnard passed away with his loving wife, Gayla, by his side. Mr. Barnard loved EIS. He retired after working for Elizabethtown Independent School District for over 45 years. During his tenure, he served as a Guidance Counselor, Teacher, Bus Driver and Instructional Assistant. When Mr. Barnard wasn’t in the classroom or on the bus, he was often found at games for various sports.

Help us celebrate the life of Mr. Barnard by sharing memories below.
