🎉 Our very first Kickoff for Change was a SUCCESS! 🎉

Toastmasters from three different areas — Elizabethtown, Central Penn, and Lancaster — came together for a fun-filled day of connection, creativity, competition, and, of course, a little CHANGE! 🙌🏾

We kicked things off with a powerful poem from Sharon Calvin, “Freedom Has No Color.” ❤️

But why a poem?

Because as speakers, we shouldn’t just focus on becoming great speech-givers. We should also develop our versatility — learning different ways to captivate, connect with, and move an audience.

And what better way to do that than with a POWERFUL poem?

We’re done with the dry, stale speeches.

THIS is the CHANGE! 🔥

Next up was a super-stellar round of Table Topics, where we got the opportunity to learn more about our fellow Toastmasters. Almost everyone shared something unique, eye-opening, and just plain interesting!

Then we took the fun to the baseball field! ⚾️

Sharon and I picked our teams, Elizabethtown vs. Central Penn Toastmasters, and battled it out over a couple of exciting rounds of kickball!

From bases loaded to Shel Taylor rolling pitches, there was plenty of laughter, competition, fun, and exercise!

And just in case anyone was wondering…

ETOWN WON, BTW! 🏆😂

Overall, it was a beautiful day filled with great people, great conversations, and a whole lot of fun.

A HUGE THANK YOU to EVERYONE who helped make our first Kickoff for Change a success! ❤️

We’re already looking forward to planning the next one!

Stay tuned… because this is just the beginning! 👀
