Hope you had a good weekend. We got in some solid training. Mostly pistol work with the “skills” classes and Concealed Carry at LCPCPC. But that wasn’t all. This is from some family range time. Jared Ross and some of his boys with their FN FALs. Ripley & Hicks were running around somewhere.

As you’ll hear in every one of our classes, we are principle-based, meaning we teach the fundamental truth. The better you understand a truth or principle, the more free you are to employ different techniques that make sense, based on the current circumstances. The 8 principles or fundamentals of shooting have not changed from the time of the Revolutionary War, but our technology and fi****ms have changed. So our techniques, or the way we employ those principles, have changed and will continue to do so. But those core truths will remain the same. You will always need a “Sight Picture” - sights are properly aligned and aimed at an intended spot on an intended target. But techniques could include using iron sights, red dot, LPVO, NODs, lasers. All of which work, but based on the circumstances, one technique will work better than the others. That is why we focus on principles.

There are still a few openings left for the Aug. 28th Pistol Low Light - Day One. This will be held at Down Range Supply at their indoor range. This will allow us run the class during the day. We will have Night Vision to loan out to students who don’t have any.
We will start with a presentation about principles and techniques of shooting and operating in limited light. The class will then shoot drills with white light. We will move on to fixing malfunctions without the aid of light. Students will also get experience firing at different targets without the aid of flashlights. This will then be followed by getting acquainted with the capabilities of Strobe lights. There will be a short block of instruction on Night Vision Devices. Students will then do a series of drills under NODs.

Solid day of training. Day one of our Concealed Carry class followed by a Pistol level one Skills class. The “Omega” baby even made a showing for some of the drills.

On the second Tuesday of each month we hold a 3-hour seminar, clinic or workshop at LTAC HQ. On the fourth Tuesday of each month, we hold the same at Down Range Supply . Topics will be different each month and often are exclusive to LTAC Tuesday. These are free for anyone who is a Lodestone Team Member. It was a good day today. Lots of variety when it came to the Pistol Caliber Carbine used in class. We are definitely running this again, plus adding a day two.
