🎓 Tonight, TCAT Elizabethton was proud to host our 1st Annual Dual Enrollment Instructor Dinner!

The evening provided an opportunity to discuss Dual Enrollment policies and procedures, collaborate, share ideas, and most importantly, celebrate the incredible partnerships we have with our local high schools.

We are incredibly thankful for our high school partners and the dedicated instructors who put so much time and effort into creating opportunities for students. Through these partnerships, experienced instructors, industry-driven curriculum, and up-to-date technology come together to prepare the next generation with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.

At the heart of it all are our students and their futures. We are grateful for everyone who plays a role in making Dual Enrollment possible and excited about what we will continue building together! 💙

🤖 The future of education is changing, and we want to help shape what comes next.

TCAT Elizabethton has formed a new Artificial Intelligence Task Force focused on exploring how AI can strengthen technical education, improve student success, and better connect education with the needs of Tennessee’s workforce.

Rather than waiting to see how AI changes education, we want to be part of the conversation about how it should be used.

That means looking beyond simply using AI to save time or automate everyday tasks. We want to explore how it can help us better understand our students, strengthen teaching and learning, identify students who may need additional support, create stronger connections with prospective students, and respond more quickly to the changing needs of employers.

At the same time, technical education will always be about more than technology. Hands-on experience, skilled instructors, relationships, and learning by doing cannot be replaced. The opportunity is figuring out how AI can strengthen those things rather than compete with them.

There is still a lot to learn, and that is exactly why we are starting the conversation now!

🚜 HEO Students Put Their Skills to the Test!

Last week, students from TCAT Elizabethton’s Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) program had the opportunity to compete in the Excavator/Backhoe Rodeo at the Greene County Fair!

The event, presented by Stowers, gave our students the chance to step into the operator’s seat and put the skills they’ve been developing in the classroom and in the field to the test using equipment provided by Stowers.

We’re proud of our students for representing TCAT Elizabethton and taking advantage of opportunities like this to showcase their skills!

A special thank you to HEO Instructor Mr. Honeycutt for supporting our students and helping prepare them for opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.
Great job representing TCAT Elizabethton! 👏🚜

This recognition celebrates our innovative Practical Nursing program, offered in partnership with local high schools, which gives students the opportunity to begin their nursing education while still in high school—creating a direct pathway into one of the most rewarding and in-demand careers.

This achievement would not be possible without the collaboration and support of Elizabethton City Schools, Johnson City Schools, Bristol Tennessee City Schools, Greeneville City Schools, Sullivan County Ballad Academy, Bloomberg Philanthropies, and TCAT Morristown.

Together, we're expanding access to career and technical education, strengthening our communities, and helping build the next generation of healthcare professionals.
