I just want to say what an amazing group of people we graduated with in 85. We may have or may not have been many teacher favorites and may or may not have caused several of our teachers to cry. I guess we were pretty rough in our younger days, well some of us. 🤣🤣 But boy did we come together as a family and an amazing group of friends this past week and weekend. I witnessed so many friends step up to help pull this weekend off for all of us. You did good and I am proud to say that we are the Elizabethton Cyclones Class of 85 and what awesome things we can do when we pull together. Thank you to each and every one of you! I love you all!

Side note to discuss: we do hope to start having a little celebration each year now for anyone that would be able to attend. We plan to meet and get the date on the calendar within the next month so you can plan for the dates next year. Also we do need for someone to take the lead and begin the actual planning for our 40th reunion. It will be here before we blink. Please comment any suggestions or volunteer below. We will be posting a contact form for you to fill out and get back to us.

Last night’s celebration was a blast! We had so much fun sitting around listening to old stories of years gone by and laughing so much! Cannot wait to hear more of those stories tonight! Drop by for some good laughs. We found out so much about each other that we did not know before. It was so good to reconnect. And we did find out we could still dance, some of us can sing, and we can stay up past 1:00 a.m. or was that a 1026 a.m.? What happens in Ridgeview, stays in Ridgeview! 🤣😂

Just a few questions that we may have to Google….. Right Lynette? All we want to know is where did the goat end up? Who keeps lime juice in their truck anyways? Where is the damn ice cream? Where does Brenda go when she disappears? Mike is an awesome electrician if you need anyone. Who is Big Red? What about that bucket list? What exactly was Sherri studying so hard every morning before school? How about them gluts Dwayne or was his name Dwight? Last but not least, it is not good etiquette to lick any liquid that has been spilled on the floor. Oh and always, always believe Dean because he never tells a lie. What a weekend!

Thanks to everyone for pitching in to make a memorable weekend celebration! We had a great weekend with so much fun dancing, singing, eating, storytelling, and so many laughs. Who knew we all got along this well and even still like each other a little bit after all of this time? We did miss you if you were unable to attend.

Hello friends! It is not too late to reserve to attend our celebration. We ordered 10-15 extra meals so we should have plenty to eat. Please be careful driving to the pavilion. Judge Ben Allen Road is not very wide and hard to pass other cars in places. It may be hard to get there, but the most beautiful view! The pavilion is located above the campground. FYI: The road leading up to the pavilion is mostly paved, but the top is only gravel and does go straight up the hill to the top. We will park in the grass above the pavilion. Please do not block the road going past the pavilion.

Friday, July 23 at 6:00 meet at Ridgeview Campground/Pavilion:
303 Judge Ben Allen Road, Elizabethton. Please bring $10.00 for each meal. Meal includes entrée, sides, and dessert. We will have waters and tea, but you will need to bring your own drinks for extra. It is going to be warm and you will need plenty to drink.

Saturday, July 24 eat between 5:00-6:00. Since restaurants are now charging $100+ just to reserve, we have decided to again meet at the pavilion. We think this will be much more personal and we will have more time to hang out. We will once again provide a meal for another cost, approximately $10.00 again.

Please bring camping chairs if you want to chill outside or you can sit in the plastic chairs provided at the tables.

We would also love to have a couple more floor fans to help keep us cooler if you have one you could bring.

Bring lawn chairs for sitting outside later in the evening.

Dress casual and cool. It is going to be hot!

We would also appreciate any donations toward the venue fee $250.00.

We will place a container in the food line for you to place the fee for your meal and donation to the venue fee.

Saturday, July 24 at 4:30, we plan to meet at one of the restaurants. Details of place will be posted later. Restaurants are charging $50-$100 to make reservations for groups of people. So we have to call a few days before in order to not pay this fee. Possibilities are Captains Table, Black Olive both in Elizabetthon or a restaurant in JC. More details later. Again after eating, we can meet back at the Ridgeview Pavillion. We have reserved the Pavillion for both nights .

We are checking for food trucks and caterers now. If we do not have enough for a minimum for a caterer, we are going to grill. Plan to pay $10.00 per meal. Bring your own drinks!

Saturday we plan to just meet up at a restaurant and then we can all go back to the Pavillion and hang out for the evening and night around a bonfire. We are trying to make it so that you will pay for everything when you get there. We hope to see everyone there. Again we need these numbers for each night. Last chance! In order to reserve food trucks, caterers, or venues we have to have a minimum number of people to pay for the costs. As of right now we will have to cancel all reservations if we do not have more people reserve. Let’s try this one more time, if you would like to attend our Class of 85 Gathering, please message Brenda, Mike, or Judy a total number that will be paying to eat and help pay for the venue rental. We will leave this open until this Friday, July 9th. We will make a decision on Saturday whether we have enough to help with the costs or if we will need to cancel and try again next year.
