We love having the opportunity to celebrate the Christmas season with these little ones! We are all so thankful for a year full of God’s blessings!
Above all else though this Christmas, we are thankful for Jesus, God’s only son, who came down from his throne in heaven to be born in a lowly manger to die for us, taking our sin and shame and giving us the gift of Heaven. What a blessed gift we have all been given, and a wonderful reason to celebrate! 🎁

We are praying for each of these little ones and all of your families that you will have a joyful Christmas holiday and enjoy your time spent together!

We are currently enrolling to fill one full-time opening in our younger preschool classroom for a child 2.5 years old (30 months) to 3.5 years old (42 months), beginning August 19th.

✨ ️Educator Highlight ✨️

Today we are celebrating Marvelous Miss Miah! Miss Miah puts in work both in the classrooms and behind the scenes. As our assistant director, she handles enrollment, office work, and scheduling on top of taking time to help out in all of our classrooms! Miss Miah’s outgoing spirit and her want to reach others and get them involved is one of our favorite things about her, but if you asked the children their favorite thing about Miss Miah, they would likely say her stories! Her animated way of reading the storybooks in our classrooms keeps each child fully captivated, anticipating the next page. Miss Miah is the best at comforting and calming, making sure all of the children have the confidence they need to take on the day! We are blessed to have such a caring, faith-focused, dedicated worker making sure our teachers have what they need in order to best care for and teach the children in our program 💓

What is your favorite activity to do with the children?
"I like interacting with the children during free play the most because of the problem solving and social learning that occurs naturally. It’s so rewarding to see the children face and overcome problems and encourage them to try different approaches to difficult situations."

What is your favorite thing about working at Riverside?
"What I like most is the working environment at Riverside. I love how encouraging everyone on staff is and that we all share the common goal of helping families create a Christian foundation for their children. I always feel appreciated and it’s so rewarding coming to and leaving work each day. It’s wonderful to work alongside a group dedicated to Christ and reaching children and families with the Gospel."

✨️ Educator Highlight ✨️

This week we are showing off the wonderful Miss Shellie! Miss Shellie has been at Riverside since we first opened over two years ago. She started as our infant teacher and is now working in our toddler, or Chipmunk classroom! Mother of three and a Grammy to three, Miss Shellie knows all the tips and tricks to run a happy classroom. She encourages the children in her class to try hard things, and keep trying until they get it! Going into Miss Shellie's room, you will always be met with happy faces and a fun environment. Dancing, singing, painting, learning shapes, colors, Bible stories, and more, Miss Shellie gives the children in her class the strong foundation they need to continue to learn and grow. The children are always so happy to see Miss Shellie and we can confidently say that her care and love has a huge impact on Riverside 💕

Her favorite activities and favorite things about working with the kids: "I love to take them in the train and sing with them. One of the things I love about working at the preschool, with my ages being 6 months to 2 1/2, is watching them hit milestones whether it is crawling, walking, or new words. I get excited to see them grow. I love lunchtime to be able
to teach them to pray. I am so blessed to be able to work with the children and to love them, also working with such sweet and wonderful young ladies. I see the love of Christ and the love of the children in their hearts."

✨️ Educator Highlight ✨️
We are so happy to introduce our newest educator, Miss Kendra! Building relationships with the families and the children is her specialty! The children in the Chipmunk class have loved having Miss Kendra as one of their teachers! She encourages, supports, and cares for each child and makes sure they are getting what they need to be happy, learn, and grow! She is always happy to help out where needed and do what needs to be done. Miss Kendra has been a blessing to us here at Riverside and we are so grateful God sent her this way! Fun Fact - Miss Kendra’s son was one of the very first children that joined us here at Riverside!

Favorite thing about working at RLC: "The environment. My coworkers make it a positive, uplifting, place to be. I could not ask for more caring, sweeter people to be around. They each love the Lord and desire to be more like Him. I'm thankful the Lord has allowed me the opportunity to be at such a wonderful place. And, of course, the children! The simpliest thing can make them smile or laugh. It makes my heart happy to see each one of them happy. Being able to sing Bible songs throughout the day with them is also a huge plus! It's such a blessing getting to love on all the sweet children!"

Favorite activity "Making crafts! The kids I have are just learning how to color or hold a paintbrush and they are so intrigued by it. I love how excited they get to show their mommy's and daddy's what they have created"

✨️ Educator Highlight ✨️
If you can’t tell, we are so excited to have our Miss Maddie back for the summer! Miss Maddie officially started working at Riverside last April, but she wasn’t a stranger to anyone, since she is Mrs. Cassy’s younger sister! Throughout the school year, she attends Pensacola Christian College in Florida; where she is on the basketball team. She spends her time helping in all of our classrooms, and she is a fan favorite for sure! Miss Maddie is known for giving our friends the best “Elsa Hair”, and she just might have more fun on the playground than the children do! She has a huge, caring heart and it shows through everything she does here at RLC. She is an encouragement to all the children and staff, and we are so glad to have her here!

Educator Highlight!
This summer we are happy to welcome Miss Grace back! Miss Grace began working at Riverside last fall, and stayed with us until she returned to Crown College for the spring semester. We are so excited to say that she is has joined us once again for her summer break. The children love Miss Grace’s ready willingness to play and her ability to turn every moment into a learning opportunity! Colors, shapes, counting, and spelling; Miss Grace makes all of these new and exciting all throughout the day. You can see the love Miss Grace has for the children in the way she gets to know each child and builds relationships with our families. Her time is split between our Raccoon and Bear cub classrooms, and she is always happy to help out in any way! Here's some more about her!

"The best thing about working at Riverside is watching the children grow and learn new skills! While I was away for the semester I prayed for the children and teachers at RLC often. When I came back it was amazing to see how all the children had grown and learned. Each child is a blessing directly from God! Investing in the lives of children and their future is such a fulfilling part of working at RLC."

Educator Highlight!

Today, we applaud Miss Cassy for being the most patient and composed 2’s and 3’s teacher! While our Raccoon class is blessed with amazing boys and girls, it can be hard to oversee 9 to 11 children who are still learning emotional regulation and self-control. Since Riverside first opened over two years ago, Miss Cassy has handled every hiccup with a consistently calm demeanor and genuine care for the children in the learning center. Her ability to captivate all the children while reading their Bible stories leaves the children excited for each new story. Her love for music is reflected in her class and you can always hear the Raccoons singing the new songs she has taught them. She works hard to make sure every child gets what they need to learn and grow and does her best to support and build up her class. Spend a day in the classroom and you’ll quickly see how much Miss Cassy truly cares about the children at Riverside.

While I love how enthusiastic the children are about the angels, donkeys, and the star of Bethlehem, the thing I love most is teaching them about Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas."

“I love being a teacher at Riverside Learning Center because I have the opportunity to see the children grow! Not only physically, though they do go from babies to kindergarteners while here, I love to see them grow in their knowledge and understanding. Having a small part in their growth of learning who God is and that he loves them, how to treat their friends in a way that honors God, and learn fun things about the world God created is so rewarding!
