💙💛 STATE OFFICERS VISIT ELIZABETHTON FFA! 💛💙

We were excited to welcome Tennessee FFA State President Emma Hummer and East Tennessee Vice President Nate Mason to Elizabethton FFA today!

Emma and Nate spent the day working with our members and officer team through team-building activities, leadership-focused vision sessions, and officer development. We’re thankful for the time, energy, and encouragement they poured into our chapter!

And we especially appreciate their dedication—they had an early 5:00 AM start to make it to Elizabethton in time for 1st period! Now that’s commitment! 👏

Thank you, Emma and Nate, for investing in Elizabethton FFA and helping our members continue to grow as leaders.

Watauga District Land Evaluation CDE

Elizabethton FFA had a great day competing in the Watauga District Land Evaluation Contest!

Our students put their soil science and land-management skills to the test alongside 112 competitors from across the district.

🏆 Elizabethton Team #1 — 6th Place Overall / 31 teams

🌟 Maddie Pressley — 10th Place Individual out of 112 competitors!

We’re proud of all of our members who competed today. Land Evaluation challenges students to evaluate soil characteristics, determine land capability, and make sound conservation and management decisions—skills that have real applications in agriculture and natural resources.

Elizabethton FFA members competed in Dairy Evaluation and Prepared Public Speaking at the Appalachian Fair, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments!

Our team of Maddie Pressley, Callie Pippin, Katie Hartley, and Gracie Keith competed against 110 individuals and 26 teams!

Our speakers represented EHS extremely well across all four divisions:

🥈 Senior — Alivia Anderson, 2nd Place

Two 1st-place finishes, two 2nd-place finishes, a Top 5 individual dairy evaluator, and a Top 5 dairy team!

We are proud of these students for stepping up, competing, and representing Elizabethton FFA so well. Whether judging in the ring or speaking in front of a crowd, they continue to show what FFA is all about—premier leadership, personal growth, and career success! 💙💛

Today, Tennessee mourns the loss of one of our own.

Dolly Parton represented so much of what makes Tennessee special — faith, family, hard work, generosity, humility, and a deep love for the place she called home.

From her roots in the mountains of East Tennessee to a career that carried her around the world, Dolly never forgot where she came from. More importantly, she used her success to give back. Her support of education, children, families, and communities across our state leaves a legacy that reaches far beyond her music.

For those of us involved in agriculture and FFA, her story also reminds us of the importance of our rural heritage — that where you come from matters, that hard work still means something, and that success is measured in part by what you do for others.

Thank you, Dolly, for making Tennessee proud and for leaving our state better than you found it.

You will always be one of our own.

A GREAT NIGHT FOR ELIZABETHTON FFA AT THE 100TH APPALACHIAN FAIR! 💙💛

Tonight, 27 Elizabethton FFA members attended the 100th Appalachian Fair and represented our chapter in Regional Beef Evaluation and agricultural mechanics exhibits!

Our students also earned 1st Place Blue Ribbons with several projects they designed and built in our ag mech shop:

We are incredibly proud of the way these students represented Elizabethton High School , Elizabethton FFA, and agricultural education.

The ribbons and placings are exciting, but some of the best parts of FFA are the experiences along the way. These are the kind of memories our students will carry with them long after they leave the classroom.

Teachers are getting ready to head back to school tomorrow, EHS Ag instructor Mr. Agan is wrapping up an incredible professional learning experience in Yellowstone National Park!

Mr. Agan was selected as one of just 12 educators from across the country to participate in a Yellowstone educator field seminar, where he spent the week studying one of the world's most fascinating ecosystems.

From observing bison, wolves, grizzly bears, elk, mountain goats, and pronghorn to analyzing real wildlife population data and learning how scientists model ecosystem change, this experience has been packed with hands-on science that will make its way into our agriculture classrooms this year.

So many great stories, pictures, and lessons to learn from the experiences being brought back to Elizabethton students.

We're excited to kick off another great year! 💙💛🌾
