We’re incredibly proud of Alyssa, Claryssa, Destiny, Emily, Jasiah, Jocelyn, Phritz, and Ricardo as they take the next steps in their journeys.

From aerospace engineering to audio production and beyond, each of them is carrying forward the creativity, confidence, leadership, and community they’ve built along the way.

Today I had the opportunity to once again visit the Institute of Music for Children in Elizabeth, and I left inspired by everything I saw. I visited classrooms where students were learning and growing through baking, DJing, martial arts, piano, drums, public speaking, hip hop dance, art, and so many other creative programs.

The Institute of Music for Children provides affordable arts education and enriching opportunities for children and families throughout our community.

I am pictured with Executive Director Alysia Souder, who has faithfully served the Institute for the past 17 years. Thank you to Alysia, Jennifer North, the Development Director, the dedicated staff, talented instructors, trustees, and every person who invests their time and passion into making this organization such a special place.

Take the stage during our Open Mic! Or get inspired with a concert featuring Justin Vedovelli and Hector Morales performing jazz and Peruvian music in a unique musical experience.

Every ticket and donation makes a difference. All funds raised during the event will help advance our vision of building a state-of-the-art facility to expand our campus creating more opportunities for youn people to learn, grow, and thrive through the arts.

“Art has been an escape for me throughout my whole life.”

Teaching Artist and Glo Girls Instructor Ms. Meli discusses some of the many rewards art has brought her: a closer connection to her family, and an outlet when life becomes challenging.

She works to provide a safe space for her students to develop leadership, self management skills, and a healthy outlet to express their emotions.
