•We are taking a field trip to the Beauchamp Newman Museum

Yesterday, Mrs. Emily Smith, an instructor at Brown Dog Yoga came to show us how to do some cool yoga poses! She read Dr. Seuss’s “Up Up” and taught us a new yoga poses based on the different pages. The hardest pose that we tried was called “crow pose”, where one must put their knees on their elbows, lean forward, and try to balance on their hands! She makes it look so easy! 😱🐕🧘🏼‍♀️

Some staff from Coplin Clinic came to visit us today! They read us a story and made “calm down jars” with us! Lots of sparkles here!🩺⚕️

Last Friday, the Fire Chief of Elizabeth-Wirt Volunteer Fire Department, Stephen Settle, and Mark Campbell came to visit us with Smokey the Bear, read to us, tell us all about fire prevention, and even teach us how to stop, drop, and roll! We also got a tour of one of the firetrucks and even got to go inside!! Later that day, Officer Hunter Hickman came to read to us as well! He told us all about his job and keeping the community safe! Thank you first responders!!🚒🔥🚔

On Tuesday and Wednesday, some members of the Wirt County FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) Chapter came in to buddy read with us! They told us all about being a part of FBLA, participating in competitions, and having the opportunity to travel! Now, many of the students are excited for 7th grade and the chance to join the Future Business Leaders of America! Thank you so much Wirt FBLA!!🧳💙💛

Arrrgh!🏴‍☠️Today in Ms. Cheyann’s class, the students set out on a scavenger hunt for pirate treasure! The students worked together to solve clues and find the buried squishies! Good job Ms. Cheyann’s Class! ⚓️

The Little Kanawha Riverfest Royalty visited us today to read, and they brought sashes for us to decorate too! The students got to decide what they wanted to represent, make their sashes, and wear them just like the queens! Thank you Little Kanawha Riverfest Royalty!
