I mentioned during work the other day that it would be hard to fit all the reasons why the Wirt County Fair is one of my favorite events of the year. And that's the doggone truth, no exaggeration. But it's not so much a list of things or reasons why. It's much more about the feelings it gives me and the values I hold dear.
In an effort to answer all the reasons why I love our fair, glance through these photos to see for yourself. And then, if you still cannot understand why, well, then your heart does not align with mine.

Whatta know, I got cut off bc I was too chatty this mornin'! 😆 Anyhoo, here's my unsolicited observations about the 2026 Wirt County Fair so far.
Your Wirt County Extension Agent, Meadoe Richards and I are extra proud this time of year. And getting to see everyone's hard work and efforts fall into place to make another successful fair year is the cherry on top!

Here's a lil sneak peek at the exhibits entered yesterday. Would you look at those Garden Goodies?!?! One thing I know for certain, Wirt Countian's are BORN with green thumbs!

Take this as your reminder to check out the endless skills on display at the dining hall. The junior, adult and 4-H exhibits are really something this year! Be sure to congratulate the ribbon and cold hard cash winners!

🎉 **SHOW OFF YOUR TALENT AT THE WIRT COUNTY FAIR EXHIBIT HALL!** 🎉

Do you have a beautiful garden, delicious baked goods, canned foods, handmade crafts, woodworking projects, photography, flowers, quilts, artwork, or other creations you're proud of? We want to see them at the **2026 Wirt County Fair!**

💵 **NEW THIS YEAR:** We've **increased the premium money** in many exhibit departments, so there's even more reason to enter!

🎟️ **PLUS... EVERY EXHIBITOR HAS A CHANCE TO WIN!**

Enter **at least one exhibit** and you'll automatically be entered into a drawing for **one of FOUR FREE one-day admission passes to the Wirt County Fair!**

🗓️ **The drawing will be held on Wednesday, August 5, at approximately 10:00 a.m.**

⭐ **Only one drawing entry per exhibitor, regardless of the number of exhibits entered.**

⏰ **Busy schedule? We've got you covered!**

There are **three easy ways** to enter your exhibits:

✅ **1. Drop your exhibits off early** at the Wirt County Extension Office before the fair, and **we'll register them for you!** You'll still be entered into the drawing for a FREE one-day admission pass.

✅ **2. Pre-register your exhibits** to skip the registration line on **Tuesday, August 4.** Pre-registration is **optional**, but it helps make check-in quick and easy! This includes **4-H exhibits**, so 4-H members can pre-register their project exhibits, too.

✅ **3. Register your exhibits in person** during Exhibit Check-In on **Tuesday, August 4, from 4:00–8:00 p.m.** if you prefer not to pre-register.

🌸 **Please Note:** Flower Show exhibits are **not eligible** for the one-day admission pass drawing, as Flower Show exhibits are entered separately on **Friday, August 7, from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 noon**, after the drawing has already taken place.

Whether it's your first exhibit or you've been entering for years, we'd love to fill the Exhibit Hall with the incredible talents of our community! There are exhibit classes for **youth and adults**, so everyone is encouraged to participate.

Bring your best vegetables, flowers, baked goods, canned goods, quilts, crafts, woodworking projects, photography, artwork, 4-H projects, and so much more!
